Why are they trying to break down Barriers? Why cant ye lust live amongst yourselves, besides putting your culture onto people who dont care about your culture or alla ?? It would be like me going to Saudi Arabia or your Muslim countries and marching down your streets with a St Patricks day parade!!! I have no interest in your country religon or cultures or what you dress like, so keep it in your own countries and out of mine !!!!!!!!!! Thats my opinion and i would think most Irish people..
@MsStevenstar Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You say that Muslims should go back to their country however this idea is flawed. Islam is a religion for all nations and peoples therefore exclusively belongs to none.
These ladies are actually living in their country and have a right to practice and share their lifestyle with whoever is interested. None of the attendees came by force and everyone had a great time. Is that problematic for you?
1.@ the respective lady in this video, Yr husband being Bangladeshi, not necessarily 2 b a practicing Muslim.Coz most pple in Bdesh don’t practice Islam properly, aprox 80% wmn don’t wear hijab. No wonder they follow media which is very often against Islamic principles & indulge themslvs in propagating wmn wearing hijab 2 b opresd, subjugated ,a burden imposed on them by their families, an obstacle 2 their success &often mk wrong remark regarding hijab/Islam with their horrible Islamic knowledge
2.To know Islam learn the Quran & follow Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). He is the best example of a Muslim. Don’t follow Muslims utterly, u may get misled. No wonder many a time Muslims themselves don’t know what their scripture has to say. Hijab is a broad term not merely a piece of cloth on the head or so called inside hijab rather a combination of covering of the body (as mentioned in the Quran) and inner hijab as well, for both men & women.
This is so good, especially because the audience seems more like the older generation, which sometimes have deeper racist views, so for them to change their opinion is really a success.
I think the general message these women put together is what we need to see in every country. I really appreciate, especially as young Muslim Convert - such an organized effort as this to help people understand Islam, and women who are depicted as oppressed. Why can we not Organize our faith as a whole to promote these messages. There are numbers of faith walking around - why can't we promote our faith? Stand UP!
these women need to fix up their hijab cos right now its just a fashion accessory and doesnt come close to HIJAB which means a veil that puts a barriar and conceals.
Just a correction - may Allah reward the sister - It is agreed upon by a majority if scholars that niqab is compulsory (fard) and a minority of scholars says it is recommended/choice (sunnah).
Congratulations my dear sister, may Allah (swt) bless your decision to revert to Islam. Don't be swayed by the Islamphobes and be strong in your faith.
wow nice video, i am new muslim and i am struggling with wearing the hijab but now after seeing this i will always wear my hijab and learn the many different styles and colors like in this video...i loved the wedding attire....thanks alot
A Muslimah in Hijab always looks purer than a woman in a mini- skirt. And a Muslimah in Hijab who practices Islam, will always be happier and free of shame, while a "liberated" woman has nothing but the empty standards of fashion magazines, western-style therapy, and empty and temporary "love" affairs to look forward to.
Negative generalisations are never appreciated regardless which denomination you belong to.
Immodesty, loose morals and promiscuity are not synonymous with being non-muslim nor are muslims (practising or otherwise) divinely protected from such traits.
Islam certainly provides its followers a means to happiness and a moral compass but it is not the sole owner of such virtues nor is it the point of religion, but rather a by-product.
You're absolutely right, but please understand that i was talking about the ones who wear the hijab for the right reasons. Believe me there are certain individuals who give muslims a bad name. But if someone wears it for the sake of Allah and modesty they will get rewarded trust me.
@munayarey u are so correct on that i was one of those girl that wore mini skirt and when i walked outside it was always in fear i felt like a walking object.... but now i am new muslim woman and when i wear my hijab and dress modest i get respect and i walk in peace, happier and free of unwanted remarks from men.
Oh...Praise be to Allah...mashaÁllah eh :D I am so proud to have found this...Mabrook, this is incredible...the veil is not unique to Islam it is timeless..its a protection for women!
It doesn't really need to be a "clash of cultures" in Aussie. What does a girl's headscarf have to do with anyone else? It's her choice! It seems silly to make a big deal about allowing it or not allowing it.
I am an American woman who is Orthodox Christian. I also cover my hair according to the Bible 1 Corinthians chapter 11:3-16. Either I braid it so it is not seen in its fullness or actually wear a scarf depending on the situation. I think these women who did this show are beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes they look like our blessed lady, Mary the mother of Jesus. Thanks for the video so much. Peace !
Oh, my God, i also had tears watching it, sisters ARE DOING good job, a great help to fade away the misconceptions about Muslims and those who follows Islam. May Allah reward these sisters and you for sharing the video!
No, they are a bunch of modest self respecting women who will not eliminate a teaching for being old and accept it based on its legitimacy, in this case it is the wearing of their crown on their head.
It is easy to be a muslim in Australia, because Australian laws protect you as a woman. Move to an Arab country and live your islamic faith over there and you will see how different is the story. No law to protect you against their own laws.
CONVERTING to Islam seems to be a new fad. Lot's of confused western kids that need something different and foreign. It's like hippies becoming hare krishnas in the 60's. It makes them feel different and special. I would have much more respect for all of these western "reverts" if they left the comforts that western civilization has given them and go live in the Islamic world. Western civilization gave them the right to "revert" in the first place, yet they don't appreciate it.
At least hippies are open minded enough to learn about other religions and viewpoints, and judging a faith by its fallible practioners, is very lame indeed. To you they are confused it does not mean they are. Christianity is a fad too, and was for a long time. Some did moeve to the middleast and love it there and have been treated with the utmost respect, and do not want to come back in the west becasue as muslims they were treated much better in the muslim world, I know this for a fact.
Most of us aren't confused about anything, in the information age with access to alternative media, misconceptions that barricade and separate people are easily bridged and it is not a fad when you join something that is literally worth life and death. I would happily live in a middle eastern nation, and I would happily fight to get the greedy scum of western powers out of there, we should be thankful to the west for giving us the "freedom" to revert? lol we should be grateful to the third world
Great sister. From America I send you all my greetings! My heart and my Duaa are with you: May Allah guide you to the right path and excell and help you! A reward; a great reward from Allah whould show in your way ISA for this great act. I love you all in the sake of Allah!
Very true indeed. If I am to respect women who chose not to wear the hijab, how can I not respect those who want to? Even if someone feel that he/she can't respect the hijab for what it is, he/she can always respect the exercising of the right to choose by the muslim women.
i ddont thing modest clothes but i use the original islam hijab long wide and black hijab the western girls and these girls are same why they have to show their beauty to nons allah will guide you to the right way inshaallah
ya Allah..how beautiful... i wish i could find such hijab's here where i live !! ..they looked so modest that it is BEAUTIFUL , i mean this clearly shows you dn't need to show skin to be beautiful, your even more beautiful covered, 5*..from a sis in Norway "sweet", love my sisters and brothers in islam, you ALL beautiful, with hijab and beard !!
love the sisters of modesty... whether christian or muslim... but there is no other woman like a muslim woma, who bears the brunt of hatred towards islam and walks away strong.! cherish them and show appreciation arab brothers.! and teach the haters why the girl stands liberated in the hijab :-)
What you do- "veil lifting" between cultures- is very very important for all people. Please do continue, wish i could be a part of this important contribution.
This looks like it was a nice event. Congratulations. I have been under the impression that the wearing of the headscarf was a cultural behavior that was adopted from the Byzantine Empire, after the fall of Constantinople, and integrated into Islam. Is this true? Is there any Koranic basis for it. Please help me out. I would genuinely like to know. Peace.
the wearing of hijab or jalbab is mentioned in teh quran
"O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allâh is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful[33:59]."
thx for posting it and i'm very happy with the work u guys do,keep it up sisters and love to those who dont like it too,i mean with an opne mind ,love and respect to all.
I have read a bit. Mostly peripheral to my postgraduate studies and have learned some through my experience in the UK as I have colleagues and friends that are Muslim. I only know what people have told me really and I have gone to visit a local Mosque a few times
It is amazing what a little interaction with an open mind can accomplish. People hate what they don't understand, yet when they make a little effort to understand from the actual people they fear, they usually find that there was no bases for their fear. Wonderful event! Salaam
Yallaa my friend. I am neither a zionist nor jewish. You begin a debate then block me from answering? I wasn't disrespectful to you, only curious to talk. But I guess I cannot expect too much from someone who finds comfort in the West and then attacks it in such a cowardly manner. My profile page is open to comment. Peace.
Wizjkahan, I never attack the average people in the west. Here is who I attack. Zionist-NAZIS, the American Zionist controlled government, The criminal, illegitimate, racist "jew-only entity" that was forced into being at the expense of MY PEOPLE as a European gesture to makeup for their crimes against their own Jewish citizens. IT WAS NOT MY PROBLEM. Yet my people have been paying for other people's crimes for the past 80 Years with no hope in sight.
Let me add to that, I do not mind any respectable debate anytime. Yet, I have zero tolerance for ZioNAZI sympathizers. And I do not mean Jews. I mean Zionists, who are no different than their Nazis idols and in the Palestinian case they are worse. Otherwise everything is welcome. I unblocked you for debate if you like...
Let's show some courtesy to the people who posted this hijab video and continue this dialogue on my profile page. I would very much like to hear what you have to say. Peace.
Sometimes it's hard to understand us for non Muslim and not judge us. These events does great to break ice and start conversations!
