I'm a mac guy... I really am. For what I need in a computer, macs just fit the bill. I agree they are way too damn expensive, but really- other than the cost- Apple makes very good computers. The macbook air, however, is just pointless. More than anything, it's apple saying "look at the shit we can do!". That's all fine and good, of course, because companies need to do that to stay competitive and up to date, but anyone who buys a macbook air instead of a netbook is missing a part of their brain
NOT TO GO WITHOUT SAYING HOWEVER- that macs are hands-down MUCH more efficient per GHz and per GB RAM than windows. People spout black and white stats like "well my laptop has 8 GB of ram... your macbook pro has what, 4? haha!" Well yeah, but OSX Snow Leopard uses RAM 64% more efficiently than any computer to date. Now THATS a real statistic. (Although my point still stands about buying a netbook instead of a Macbook Air)
Macbook airs are actually half that price ($1500) and 5x the speed (mac speed has more speed per gigabyte of ram and gigahertz of processor) So in the end your best of getting a Macbook, Pro, Air or white or desktop. I've had 35 crashes (really more like 100) on my windows 7 pc since i got it and 0 on my mac since I got it the same time.
I like Mac OS :-). Wouldn't have it any other way. It is proven that most people don't switch to mac OUT OF FEAR from a different OS! Can you believe that? Just because you'd be afraid of an OS *sits here, staring at the screen with an "OMG"-face*...
mate, id take the asus eee pc anyday since it costs 200 pounds here and you can chuck it about without worry of breaking it thanks to solidstate and fulfils all the basic computing needs on a daily basis, surfing emailing etc,
you probably forked out thousands of dollars for a macbook on the basis of some commercial which you thought was cool
okay so the mac book air is not the only laptop that can fit in a envelope we get it lol
