  • Fantastic dance tune. Brings back a lot of memories.

  • Even though these guys look as old as I am (LOL) this song still is one of the all time classic rock ballads. It makes me feel really old, but in a good way.

  • Flashback! Those of you who know, know what I mean

  • First song my hubby of 44 years ever danced to ...good song, good memories.

  • hey this the soundtrack of my youth and many more-i'm cryin man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was a teenager living in London when this came out in `67. Brilliant song that will remain timeless

  • u wanna rock? listen to Grand Funk Railroad

  • Awesome music"""

  • 7 minutes of magic!

  • Keep Rock and Roll Alive. Great tune!

  • One of the greatest pieces of music ever written while Procol Harum's first two albums were two of the most magnificent albums ever produced. If anyone would listen to "Shine on Brightly" stoned and in the dark that is about as close as they can come to experiencing what the '60's felt like. And that is coming from someone who spent all 3 days at Woodstock where unfortunately Procol Harum was not.

  • @joel7349

I'm SO gonna try this tonight :-)

  • George Harrison once called this the best song of the 60's. I'm sorry that some of the younger crowd doesn't appreciate it but that's ok...those of us that lived the 60's love it...

  • @fraz5560 John Lennon said "I should have wrote it", lol.....

  • this song sucks

  • @Trimbler00 ..it's ok man...the younger generation has it's music...one day(when you grow up) maybe you'll appreciate good music....but somehow i doubt it...

  • @fraz5560 Hey, my musical preferences have matured so much since then. I really regret criticizing such an incredible tune. Now I listen to Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Rush, and many more prog rock groups. I just needed to give it a fair chance.

  • @Trimbler00 it's ok man...one day when you grow up, perhaps you'll appreciate good music...i hope so

  • Why can't we go back to those times

  • @Missy123ful Unfortunately time does not stand still, but for some Us not a good time I was in Viet Nam.

  • Thia brings back memories of my "boyfriend" and his band. Good times.

  • I first bought the album in 1968 while attending Berlitz Academy in Wash DC (Korean language training). A Whiter Shade of Pale was so surrealistic I could not believe how it was able to transport me into another world. This particular rendition seems to have lost some of its mystique but it is a great song and could not be really be performed as well by anyone else. I remember in later years a girl performed it pretty well. I think her name was Lennox.

  • These are the original lyrics. second verse about" home on shore leave" is not sung that often.

  • am i wrong or the lyrics are completely differnt from the other renditions?

  • i'm only 26 but I think the 60s were my favorite time for music. it had so much to offer and so many songs still rock today.

  • its BACH

  • Imitation is much maligned but it is an essential activity in all walks of life. We all stand on the shoulders of giants; the important thing is that we reach that little bit further and don't forget our debt of gratitude to those who have gone before us.

  • One of the best song in whole all time, The music for a lost lonely island

  • I have wanting to hear that song for years now and it was a real joy to be able to hear it again! THANK-YOU

  • truly a timeless masterpiece from one of the greatest voices in music....
