Got my Roland KR575 to sync with my mbox, I can record the notes when i play them on my keyboard and they show up in my midi track, but theyre silent when i play the recording back. halp plz

I often get lost with the " Protools endorsed experts " because they move too fast. It's too easy for them. You talk very fast but I could follow your work flow easily.

Very GREAT POINT about Powering up the Midi Device Before opening Protools.

I read that in the manual but it was a Good reminder.

Help! Help! Help! Hi, I'm new to pro tools but I got everything set up. I've been working with it for about 10 days. I unplugged my mbox mini from my mac on Sunday morning and plugged it back up Sunday night, now I keep getting the message, "unable to locate digidesign hardware" even though it is plugged in. I've plugged and unplugged, I've even uninstalled protools and re-installed in an effort to resolve the issue. Nothing works. Any suggestions as to what will resolve the issue? Thanks.

The million dollar question seems to be HOW can you control the volume faders in Pro Tools with a midi controller? I just bought a new Alesis QX49 and there are NO drivers on the Alesis website- so it shows up as "USB audio device" in Device Manager. However, when I connect the alesis controller using an M-Audio midi to usb cable (instead of USB to USB) it works great to with my sonik-synth plugin, but i can't find a way to get it to control the pro-tools faders. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!!!!!

@ChesneyDigital To answer my own question, I found out that ProTools 8 has a "Midi Learn" function that is not available in version 7.3 that I have. What a rip.

hey this video helped me out alot so i was wondering if you could help me with a few other thinks basicly im running pro tools le 8 throught windows 7 (i installed an update from 8.0.3 to 8.0.4)with an mbox 2 wich accepts windows 7 . and the only problem im haveing is distortion! really bad distortion even when i changed the playback buffer settings and i cant even record , so if you know the problem i'd appreciate it

@iMauri make sure under the track menu that monitoring input only is unchecked. Hope that works.

hey man ive got this all working but im not sure how to get it to playback through my monitors rather than the midi control (keyboard) speakers. also if its on a midi track i cant insert a plugin to use it through on that track like Xpand?

I have my "MIDI Thru" enabled, and everything hooked up right for my Axiom 25. But still, when I hit the record button, I see the green levels working, but no "wave lengths" show on the grid. What is the problem here???

It depends on i you have it running Re-wired through a program like reason, or if your just using it as a midi controller to create midi notes, if theres no wave form, your most likely just making a midi pattern?

Great lesson thank you. I don't have the option to select 'keystation 49' ony 'USB audio device'. But in the hardware list from the list of devices including USB, it says keystation 49 under the placement field in the general tab. It works. But as you said I need to turn on the keyboard before launching pro tools. Also something I have forced myself to get used to.
