Amazing actually to see where the Red Hens finished up.This one( 402) looks in original condition and still has the Regal Red paint job.Fabricated in Lyten steel at Islington Railway Workshops circ 1960 s.Lyten is the same steel used in truck tippers(trays).It is a carbon steel basically and is stronger than mild steel.Although utilitarian in appearance they did the job very well and for many years.Nice posting.
