Well I'm employed by Tyson Foods...I don't work in the plant on the lines in some time but i can assure you these things aren't acceptable...but are hard to catch while in the act, those rooms you see are nearly pitch black..I am sorry for the cruelty to them animals but it doesn't matter how humane we are in the end they are going to die somehow..I will continue to eat all the chicken and ribeye I can get my teeth into.

Their muscles grow faster than their internal organs and bones, so often times they can barely even walk or even breathe correctly. It's a freak of nature. Organic chickens are fed organic feed and no growth hormones. Now, you can still torture an organic chicken, but odds are a farmer who takes the time to go organic isn't going to treat his or her birds like it's a part of an assembly line.

I work at Tyson Foods as well...and the plant I work at is nothing like this either. I don't think this is a fair judgement of Tyson Foods as a company. I agree that what is shown is this video is extremely wrong and action should be taken, however the plant I work in monitors this. Maybe the issue in this plant should be resolved, but I assure you Tyson Foods is a great company. Whoever posted this is being bias...maybe they should mention all of the great things we do too!

I work for Tyson as well. As a matter of fact, my job is doing the initial "stunning" of the cattle I cant say how, however I can totally assure you that the animals' don't feel any pain at all. There are strict guidelines that must be followed. There are USDA and Tyson Corporate Quality Assurance Officers in our area of the plant Full Time. It's a pretty tough job, but I can sleep at night knowing that there is no pain caused to the animals by myself or any of my co-workers ever.
USDA worries more about farmers than comsumers, and Tyson worries more about money than animals or poor farmer who are in dept over the top of their heads. It's a dirty business, no matter how you look at it. Buy animal products from local small farmers, or don't it it.

And don't forget that this kind of saughterhouse is the biggest reason why chickens are infected with salmonella and camphylobacter, not to mention whatever results from the workers pissing on the lines. Feel free to eat chicken (I love it myself) but don't by it from Tyson or anyone that Tyson supplies (KFC, TacoBell, McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Costco, IGA, or Beef O'Brady's.) Part of the abuse of chickens, which you don't see in this video, is the hormones chickens are given. Their muscles grow faster than their internal organs and bones, so often times they can barely even walk or even breathe correctly. It's a freak of nature. Organic chickens are fed organic feed and no growth hormones. Now, you can still torture an organic chicken, but odds are a farmer who takes the time to go organic isn't going to treat his or her birds like it's a part of an assembly line.

Nope, they're not banned. I've got some buddies who work for a "chicken farmer" in West Kentucky, and they've told me some horror stories about how the chickens grow so fast.

joseangel1981, what you don't seem to understand is that the amount of food that you must feed to chickens to get them to produce eggs and get them big enough for slaughter could feed a lot more people than the resulting chickens and eggs would. You, by demanding to eat your tasty chicken, are CAUSING the hunger in Africa. The food that goes into the chicken to feed you could feed dozens of people in Africa.

I work at Tyson Foods as well...and the plant I work at is nothing like this either. I don't think this is a fair judgement of Tyson Foods as a company. I agree that what is shown is this video is extremely wrong and action should be taken, however the plant I work in monitors this. Maybe the issue in this plant should be resolved, but I assure you Tyson Foods is a great company. Whoever posted this is being bias...maybe they should mention all of the great things we do too!

But I am a fair person, and I think it would concern me if I seen hundreds of these videos from multiple locations...but not just this one and from this one location.

I work for Tyson as well. As a matter of fact, my job is doing the initial "stunning" of the cattle I cant say how, however I can totally assure you that the animals' don't feel any pain at all. There are strict guidelines that must be followed. There are USDA and Tyson Corporate Quality Assurance Officers in our area of the plant Full Time. It's a pretty tough job, but I can sleep at night knowing that there is no pain caused to the animals by myself or any of my co-workers ever.

USDA worries more about farmers than comsumers, and Tyson worries more about money than animals or poor farmer who are in dept over the top of their heads. It's a dirty business, no matter how you look at it. Buy animal products from local small farmers, or don't it it.
