Start of this song reminds me of Pyramid Song & How To Disappear Completely. If you have no idea about those two songs, go listen to the second song first. Both are performed by Radiohead, and thanks to this I think I'll go give Kid A a good listen, it's been a long while.
simply one of the greatest, most beautiful songs ever written, if you disagree, you simply haven't lived to understand. im so happy i was born to hear this.
@SqueezyBottle agree! funny how when everybody likes it and its "cool" suddenly you can't enjoy it anymore. Jonsi will forever be ours if we all obey the code of Jonsi silence!
there's just something about Jonsi's music that makes me feel like i am about to make the biggest decision of my life. by the last 30 seconds of the song, i've made that decision and it's a good one:)
i was in a little family run music store in toronto canada when i first heard this song, on holiday from the uk, it only took me about 30 seconds to make my mind up to buy this album. its absolutely beautiful. and thank you for posting this. not sure why but it seems to bring up all kinds of memories.
Oh, and this song is just absolutely sublime, straight from the heart of jónsi's brain, one of my favs, along with all the work he has done in Sigur Rós! Thank you AartGraaf, and sorry for the off-topic down here.. ;D
This was recommended to me by a good friend of mine. I do not regret clicking the link at all. What a beautiful song. It brings a mix of emotions for me. I love it.
I felt the need to look up this song after playing a game called "The Killer" on Newgrounds. It was a beautiful work of art paired with this song. I'm glad I came across both of these.
@STEVEswanson11 yeah the start of it sounds a bit like it, it has the same sort of melody, I dont think the whole melody is the same but its really similar though I can really hear what your saying (I searched on youtube for the radiohead song)
Heard this for the first time today, randomly, and it reminded me immediately of seeing Sigur Rós in Omaha, NE a couple summers ago.. Deadly tornados came through that night and killed some people and they played and it was so intense... Just flashed back on taking shelter, and hearing them offer their music to the memory of those that had been hurt by the storms. Crazy...
This song is sooo sad and beautiful. Jonsi is the king! If you like this kind of music, you should check out ''Fragile Bones(Feels Like Home)'' by Ali Murray. Sigur Ros and Ali Murray are 2 of the only musical artists that make me cry...
Does anyone else fin that Jonsi tends to let his voice fall in with the music? Like most artists use the instruments to ADD to their songs, and mainly their lyrics. But Jonsi just does more than that. He lets his voice be part of the music. Everything just fits together so perfectly, and at times when I don't understand what he is singing, I still get it. You can feel Jonsi's music, rather than just hear it, he really has an amazing gift.
Whoever disliked this video must have no heart...No soul. This rythym is beautiful, the melody unmatchable, his voice angellic and unbeatable, and the attitude absolutely heart lifting. Whenever I have a good moment or memory in life, I will think back on this song to make it even better. Do not dislike this amazing piece of art (as it is much more than music) just because you are a troll. Have a bit of respect for the good in this world.
This is amazing. It sounds like they were doing the melody of How to Disappear Completely by Radiohead. I prolly sound dumb for pointing out the obvious. But it's a great song either way :)
@XXDeathxCore I love when people who are huge fans of one genre suddenly fall in love with a song that's wildly different.....it gives me hope for humanity
@soranaru Yeah that's what After the Burial, Volumes, Bury your Dead(With Mat Bruso), Defiler, Veil of Maya, and Born of Osiris are lol. Learn your shit bro. Those band I just named are amazing. None of them "bre bre or chug chug."
@soranaru Suffocation good death metal? Holy s man. And don't talk about Slayer either! Try some Necrophagist , Augury , Anata, Order of Ennead... oh! And fucking Whitechapel to see what's musical assed death metal ;) I see your mind a bit to tiny to fuck with different subgenres, try to pull out for a while of the classic death metal scene and try some modern stuff, you'll get raped in a second. Speaking of Deathcore, All Shall Perish are sick! Start with that, then come here to thank me =D x)
@XXDeathxCore but whitechapel isnt metal its shit compiled into a thing that you call music but is not....you sir have horrible taste and metal is better without the core so you sir are not a metalhead....just a wannabe
@Boobiespudding but everyone is intitled to their own opinion, though i agree that, in my own opinion, thats not very good, however, everyone likes different things, im sure someone finds your style of music shitty too *shrug*
I think all of us who appreciate Sigur Ros and Jonsi for everything that it is and means and gives, we should just go live on our own compound and space out to music all day. This is the soundtrack to life
This was the most mind blowing show, and this song had everyone around me patting down their goosebumps and wiping away tears. That powerful. That beautiful.
I was listening to this song walking about the campus and suddenly I felt this strong invisible push towards my chest. I could barely walk. The Most Beautiful music I've ever heard.
hmmm alright honestly i think the first time you hear this song its not so great. but then it sticks in your mind and you want to hear it again, and it gets better.
Marvelous from the touch of the first note on the piano. This melody is the ballad for the natural disasters in Iceland ....
