12 of these films are worthy to be in this list. Youve made an error with "jungle holocaust". One of the images youve used didnt appear in Jungle Holocaust, but in cannibal holocaust. Cann holocaust isnt also known as jungle holocaust. JH does have some other working titles like "last cannibal world" and "last survivor", but the scene of the woman on a pole is from cannibal holocaust. Both films were made by the same guy but about 3-4 yrs apart if i remember rightly.

@jim15ratm - ok, an inconsistency in ur images :P anyway, its no real prob, i just noticed it thats a ll. the 12 films: american werewolf/london, braindead, evil dead, exorcist, freaks, hatchet, maniac, night/living dead, psycho, reanimator, shining, texas. Ive been watching horror for over 24 yrs and i love every genre horror has to offer. I love gore, video nasties, giallo but i also love psychological thrillers/chillers. i also love true crime films about serial killers and the odd war film.

proper horror films that shock you and leave you mentally scared for a few days

@SnuffHunter1 I saw nekromantik, men behind the sun, aftermath and flowers of flesh and blood. The movies you mentioned have scenes that make them worth watching but overall I wouldn't say they are really good movies.

Re Animator for sure. Took the horror genre of the 90's to a hole new level thanks to Director Stuart Gordon. He also did a another good one shortly after that called From Beyond. Horror / Gore fans should see that also.

Yeah it's good that's why I put it in the list, it's based on a true story, if you get the dvd there's a thing in the special features w/ the director and he explains how he went to Mexico and there was the story going around that the movie is based on.

They're all horror movies, they are labeled as horror despite your opinion, just because you don't find a movie scary doesn't mean it's not a horror, just like if a comedy isn't funny, it's still labeled as a comedy.

Well i looked it up, i like american pshyco but i dont think anyone finds it scary... kinda creepy but yeh its considered crime, drama, thriller and horror but i honestly wouldnt call it a horror myself, more of a pshycological thriller i guess.or a drama/thriller. its got suspense but its more dramatic than a horror.
