  • will this work on windows 7?

  • Awesome video. Keep on with that good work!

  • Hi this is a great introduction but I think I may need a full video tutorial with recommended settings.

  • how long can the vhs be will it fit a 10 hour vhs

  • You can store up to 4 hours of video onto single-layer DVD if you use their Long-DVD format.

  • The video test doesn't come up on mine. Why is that ? Do i have the cords in correctly ?

  • hi im very interested to buy this product i want to know if it will convert dvds in the uk

  • the vid box gets old over time and won't work.

  • what is a vid box, are you saying not to buy this product?

  • the vid box came with the product it hooks into the computer, mine wore out after little use.

  • i bought it for 79.99$ at best buy

  • $79.99!?

  • Yes, but the one thing i've noticed with it is that, as the video goes on he sound goes off a bit... kind of annoying anyone know anything about this?

  • It may happen in the preview screen, but the actual recording should be OK.

  • anyone have the serial code 4 there's because i lost mine =/

  • I am also finding that there are a lot of VHS DVD recorders that are making DVD copies from VHS where there is audio/video "out of sync". How to correct this? which recorders are good?

  • i am also having this same problem

  • I want to upconvert VHS from VHS player using El Gato 250plus attached to my MAC. How do I do this??? what type of cabling do I need?

  • do u have any youtube movie on how to burn moive of your pc to you dvd or dv camcord. plz let me know. thanks

  • Does this cause any damage to your VHS?

  • Can you plug game consoles into this?

  • how much does this shit cost?

  • Amazing and very nice presented by you! Nice job of explaining Sir. I would just note the some versions of "VHS to DVD 3.0" contains the software only and cost about $29.95. Some version contain the "capture device" (a device to convert your analog signal to digital for you computer. It cost around $79.00 on average, but shop around. Thanks again fora great presentation. I will be buying that soon.

  • with that movie can you save it to your computer and edit it

  • Hey, is it possible to burn it to your computer and not just a DVD?

  • Yup!

  • Sure it is. You're not required to put it on a DVD; that possibility is just enabled, but not necessary.

  • also can you record movies from your videos or does itr stop you when you try to burn does it have copy right block on it

  • can you record to your hard drive or does it go straight to dvd

  • I don't want to buy any hardware or software, I really need to know a way of plugging the VHS player into the computer and recording the video material off onto the PC. Is there a way of doing that without having to spend any money? I strongly believe with a good enough way of doing this, it can work. If it envolves a software program, I'd like to be suggested with anything free if possible. Thank you very much.

  • You need a capture device. If you dont have one, you cant do it without buying one.

There is no other way you can transfer vhs to dvd without one unless you use a dvd recorder for your tv, but then you cant edit, either way, you have to pay some money.

For capture devices, buy a tv tuner for your computer. You can get a cheap one for 50 bucks.

    Good luck.

  • I was just wondering...

A couple of my friends and I want to convert our old movies that are on VHS onto our computer. Does this HAVE to go onto a CD/DVD, or can we just capture the videos onto the PC for further use such as editting on other programs or upload onto Youtube?

  • The process is 1) convert analog to digital video and save on computer and 2) burn DVD.

So, that means you have to save to your computer first. ^^

Regarding youtube, that's what HTAustin did using the same product.

  • Thanks this is what I was looking for

  • What's is the name of the littlel white box, that you connecte the RCv cable, and later the USB connection?

There's a place web site from I can't download this program?

  • You can purchase the product from honestech com but you will get the best deal from Fry's or CompUSA.

  • Absolutely no mention that you can't copy your own purchased movies due to copy protection. It can be done, but you've got to spend another $100-200 for a device that removes macrovision from the analog signal.

  • I heard that you can legally copy one as backup. Also, techy friends are telling me that there is a software patch to overcome macro vision so you don't need to purchase expensive device... Good luck!

  • Wonderful! Looks very easy to use!

  • good ;)
