This is actually very smart... it moves your natural bite upward to recover the overbite without using braces.... the problem is this usually would work with people who already have straight teeth but just need to fix the overbite thats where the problem is... depending on the placement and the alignment of the teeth this may or may not be the best treatmeant to cure the overbite...

It's better than surgery. Stfu guys about saying its uncomfortable lol. A few individuals have to have surgery for other more severe cases.

I had this for 3 months, I had a HORRIBLE Overbite! I had a 9mm overbite, wore this thing for 3 months all day everyday except eating. And now my jaw if perfect!! This thing is a pain in the butt, but I got over it and it worked amazing!

i wore this thing for 2 years and its the worst thing you will have ever put in ur mouth. u take it out to eat but thats it. YOU WILL LOSE SLEEP WITH THIS THING. WHEN YOU TALK NOT EVEN ONE PERSON IN THE ENTIRE WORLD CAN POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING. ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP CLEAN. IT MAKES YOUR MOUTH SMELL HORRIBLE AND THE ONLY POSITIVE THING IS THAT IT ACTUALLY WORKS SO GLAD TO BE DONE

IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!!! IF you have this WEAR IT! WEar it as much as possible! I had the chance of fixing my bite when I was 10-12 wit this but I never wore it. Now I need to have the herbst appliance (which looks like a metal deathtrap) and braces! Do what you can, dont make the same mistake I did!!!!!

i am supposed to wear it all day for 1 year but ended up wearing it when i slept for 6 months

now my overbite has greatly improved, but i have to widen my jaw, witch hurts like hell

I have to wear this crap. I absolutely hate it sooo much! But after the 3rd month my overbite improved really well. I still hate this & I barley wear it even thought my doctor told me 16 hours a day which I can never do. I can't wait to finally stop wearing it!!!!!!

hi everybody! im a Pediatric Dentist. That appliance is called "Bionator", and you have to wear it about 1 year (it depends on your Doctor) and it´s used to get a mandibular advance in order to enhance your bite.

the difficulty of this, is that children really don´t know how efficient it could be if you use it properly. The more you use it, the best results you get.

YEH I have those, just got them. AND ITS SUPER painful for me. it kidna formed marks at my gums. WHen you speak, u sound very awful and unatural, very muffled. Kinda hard for me to drink. it just hurts. But soon, you'll overcome the pain

I have one that I wear at night, it acts like a retainer, erupts the molars to decompress the jaw joint, and opens your the way. I sleep much better because of it. You can't eat with it but you can learn to talk with it. I got mine from my boss who is a dentist, he likes his patients to wear it as much as possible to train the jaw to be in a more comfortable forward position.

how old are you though? i thought these retainers are only useful when the jaw is still growing.. i was told i have to get surgery if i want to fix my overbite and receding jaw now since i am an adult.

This appliance doesn't necessarily fix the problem it mainly holds you in a more comfortable forward position. We use it for kids and adults to train the jaw forward if their jaw tends to recede. I would get another opinion, surgery doesn't always fix the problem. Want more information? Just Google David Chrisman DDS. He is a Fellow with the American Academy of Cranial Facial Pain. So he specializes in TMJ. Just check it out before you think of doing surgery!
