I don't think it matters what generation he is appreciated in as long as his words live on. I was four when he died and his stand up really helped me in my teenage years. His material is eerily timeless. To know that people are still listening to what he worked so tirelessly to promote and that he is getting the respect he deserves even posthumously, I think he'd appreciate that. He will be quoted and loved long after we are gone. He was that good.
