true im irish american and even if i were to be anything else i would still love this music. musics here for our souls to get our blood flowing no matter wat blood you are.
No matter what cultural background one belongs to, music just speaks to you. I consider myself an Irish girl trapped inside a Japanese - American body. It is not infrequent for me to spend an entire day listening to my Celtic music collection. I ADORE this music!
Though I'm in Metal, I do appriciate and admire this kind of music! The rythm, the melodies, the entire world that is being created in my mind, through this, are absolutely magnificent!!!
It's a little known fact....that vintage TV sets grow out of the ground in the fields of Ireland....in fact, I heard that there was once a great Irish TV famine....
Thar cionn! I love this video soo soo soo much! and Paddy Moloney! the whole of the Water from the well album is simply beautiful and i love Altan too!! thanks for posting this!! :)
The first tune is a slide (12/8 jig), I believe. The second tune is a multi-part double jig "The King of the Pipers". There are several variations of this tune played around Co. Donegal. The third tune is a highland but I'm not sure on the name. The reel played at the end is a version of "The Glen Road to Carrick."
Ya va siendo hora de que toquen en España, tienes razón. Paddy normalmente pasa las vacaciones en Galicia, con lo que resulta bastante fácil encontrarle tocando en algún Pub.
I love the expressions on everyone's faces as each new layer's added and the momentum grows. And Paddy presides like the ultimate music-party host. Ah, I love this stuff so. Thanks for putting this up!
I've heard the second tune (a highland?) but can't recall where. If I come up with it, I'll post it here.
