the RX-79[G] are Prototypes mobile suits, only 12 were made, and because only 12 were made, your right repairs consist of spare mobile suit parts that is why Shiro's Gundam got the a RX-79[G]-EZ8 or the E8 Gundam

08th ms team: story of one of the Mobile Suit teams dispatched in South-East Asia, somewhere just before operation Odessa (just after Gihren's speech at Garma's funeral) till about a month after Zeon's defeat of Odessa.

No Newtypes, no Amuro.. just the MS grunts.

Maybe you should check some of the other One Year War series.

I can highly recommend 0080 War in the Pocket (somewhere in the last week of 0079, in which a Zeon special forces unit is ordered to destroy the new RX-78-NT1 Alex gundam, destined to replace Amuro's RX-78-2 unit, secretly assembled in Side 6.

MS IGLOO Hidden One Year and Apocalypse 0079 are CGI OVA's showing Zeon's perspective of war, the recent MS IGLOO Gravity Front the early Federation battles.

The anime shows Rear Admiral Yuri Kellarny (Wiki! Like I would ever remember a name like that) retreating back to the South-East Asia theatre after the defeat in Odessa. So'll the series is partially before Odessa (begins at Garma's funeral) till some time after Odessa.

@jkhuskies09 they weren't actually made from spare parts, they were repaired using such since there were very few parts that were actually made to repair them with, since they were produced in such few numbers. They were planned to be a mass production line of gundams, but I don't think it ever panned out.

You're the first to disagree. Why wouldn't it fit? Song about someone who wants to live his live as he pleases. Series about group of soldiers who fight in a way that they considering the best way. Both don't give a damn about orders.

So, I think it very appropriate, and the pace of song fits great with the series.

This video is amazing. I saw 08th when it first aired on toonami, I loved it then and I love it now. I just finished watching the series today, on dvd. I would have to say that Shiro is my favorite pilot, as well as the Rx-79/Ez8 being my favorite suits. Again, great video.

Nice change of pace from the other Gundam Series. It gets a bit boring watching one nigh-omnipotent Newtype/Coordinator/Gundam Meister/WHATEVER beat the living hell out of giant armies of pathetic minions, who might as well paint a couple of pretty, red rings on the torso of their own Suits, so I kind of liked 08th MS Team. Also, they were way better at teamwork than many of the Ace Pilots (especially Colasour from 00, who doesn't destroy anything until the s2e23)

this was my favorite gundam series because you didnt follow around a super ace and watch him beat the crap out of everyone you followed a grunt during the war around and i really liked that change of pace made it seem more realistic in my opinion

@ heeropat: The 'Giant Zaku" or 'ginat zaku arom', as you are referring to it, is the Apsalus III unit, in which i'm referring to in mine description. It incorporates some components of the Zeon line of MS.

very good AMV this series was the one of the few that really presented the harsh reality of war, it ranked different from other Gundam series due to the fact that it featured the hard part of the war and not the big display of strenght that comes in every Gundam, GREAT SERIES! I LOVE GUNDAM
