the pic from 0:39 til 1:05, how lon ago would that have been taken?? barney's standing up straight but that new guy who i don't like is there too - anyone?
ok, then the one from 2:07 til the end, how come barney looks so different, did he have his stroke in between those times? and where's that watchorn fella if it's later than that, because this looks like they did in Live at the Gaeity 2004, but watchorn was there too, but barney looked in the vid like he does now - why doesn't he look like he did in the previous pic i mentioned in the video if that's when watchorn was with them? ..sorry if that's a bit confusing!
Thats okay, though I do not know the precise date of that picture either, It has to be before 2005, since thats when Paddy Reilly left for New York and was replaced by Watchorn.
As for Barney, he might have changed his appearance or something, I dont know, all I know is is that the picture from 2:07 till the end was taken earlyer then the one from 0:39-1:05
I've got one of the Dubliners albums with that song on it and the name on the back is "The Musical Priest/The Blackthorn Stick". . . . . . . if that helps.
its on double dubliners, which i dont have but i have it on a cd called the original instrumentals which i got from outlet records. another cd called 50 tracks from 40 years for £10.99, check google.
I love them all, but I'm happy that Barney and John are still going. They've always been my favourite players as I like the jig, reels and hornpipes as much as the songs.
I'm looking forward to seeing them when they play locally in March. Dubs gigs are always great!
I used to love hiphop, punk rock etc but I only find comfort in this kind of music anymore

Patsy Watchorn joined the group in 2005 so it must have been taken between 2005 and 2008.

Man these guys are awesome. Everybody has beards! In every shot! Oh wait... except for the dude at the back at 1:31 Heh, sucks to be him

That's Paddy Reilly. Huge Irish star both with and without the Dubs. Nah, he may have no beard, but I bet it doesn't suck to be him. LOL.

And Ronnie, and Bobby, and Ciaran. We've lost a lot of Dubs over the years :-(

From when and where is it?
swedeheart1 3 years ago
I got it from the Album called The Dubliners and Luke Kelly, special edition.
But I dont know when it was recorded.
rpgplayer101 3 years ago
It's on a special 2 disc album.
It does not say when recorded, but I don't think they ever performed it live. The musical priest is one of the finest melodies in the world :)
This version is also another song as well.
