@MultiPie13 It's based on size, and the price goes up exponentially, so smaller diamonds are much less expensive than people expect, which is why cheap shops advertise "with a half a carat of ... diamonds", knowing that 1 x 1/2 carat diamond costs 3 x as much as 50 v 0.01ct - both equaling 1/2 a carat.

Personally I the workmanship and design deserved diamonds twice the size.
