  • In Poland we put a cameraman on a barrow and the result is better than from glidecam!

  • where you from?

  • OMG that's pretty ugly. Think I'll stick with Redrock micro.

  • Please tell me on witch camera did you film thiiiisss! Amazing

  • Oh jeez, now I have to find bobchrisman's comment -.-

  • @Synicade He said that the dislike-bar represents justin bieber's dick.

  • this is my Backyard FX replacement...only...dare i say......better...?

  • I'd love to see a DIY camera rail system!

  • Sorry to say this, but your face and especially your look looks like Hugh Laurie.

    Greetings from Germany! Huge Fan!

  • What is the music playing during the test shots

  • alchestbreach

  • I love this! However should I make this one or indymogul's fig rig? This is really important please help! I only have till April 9 to get my filming done but I need somesort of stedicam

  • @Jgilbert232 this one bro

  • Cool, but I still love a steadycam more. :p

  • CAPTAIN AMERICA FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just made this!! I'll upload the video of my progress later for y'all to see! Thanks Ryan!

  • Hey Film Riot guys! Let me just start by saying, you're awesome! Now for a question: How do you get all the colors so crisp and clear? I have a Canon 60d DSLR that I use for filming, but the videos always end up looking kind of.... washed out? Did you use any color correction for the test shots in this video, or was that just raw footage?

  • I don't have chocolate covered funyuns!

    NOOOOO!!!!

  • Again, what's the title off the music?

  • Nice, this is made of win. Now, how do you mount a follow focus to it?

  • I will use this and try to mix it with the normal shoulder rig to make it cheaper and also to make it look cool

  • Good build, but the quick release plate costs $50! This takes a nice little $25 build into a $75 build. Best thing to do is make your own quick release plate by cutting off the top of a cheap tripod.

  • this rig works well /watch?v=95JzbUSWlIg&context=C317d7f4ADOEgsToPDskI6tG8YlKsKbzXk2ngzjIPw

  • please give all the things you need in a list instead of links. cause when you talk fast its annoying but anyways great build

  • whats that song called for the test ???? i like the tune

  • What LENS do you USE in This VIDEO?? please reply me THANKS.

  • You can buy them (something similar) new for about £25 on amazon.co.uk

  • What camera Is that? That you're using at the end on the shoulder mount?

  • Can you make a fig rig!!!???

  • This guy talks too fast...

  • is this or the dslr shoulder mount the best

  • That's a real gay paint job :-)

  • $25 but the Rapid Connect Adapter costs $50 -.-

  • @fanna1119 i had an old tripod that brook so i took the quick release off that but it had only cost me like $15 ebay new so

  • I couldnt get choclate funyuns ;(

  • STOP TALKING SO FAST!

  • how about you add some moving parts to the actual handles to get rid of all shakes? like in the "Glide Cam"? would that work?

  • jajaja the close encounter make my dad laughs

  • i would love to see a snorricam build

  • @gearsofshock indymogul did one, check them out

  • The thumbnail looks like he's holding a rocket launcher.

  • did the design, but it cost just under 100 bucks..

  • fuck it im going on ebay

  • i made a simplified version for less then 10

  • Hey! We just posted our first video with use of this shoulder rig. Check it out! We also used the DIY light-stand filmriot created.

  • AWESOME, ive been a fan for a long time, and this was a cool build, oh hay, would anyone be willing to look at my video "Contentions" and tell me how i did? i worked really hard and i think it turned out alright.

  • slow the fuck down

  • You talk as fast as FRED!!!! :)

  • Why use a cover plate and have to drill through metal? Why not just use a block of wood?

  • man am soooo gonna try this am sooooooooooo gonna try this

  • what lens are u using for the test shots???

  • I MADE MY OWN 50cal !!! >:D BWAHAHAHAHA .... still drying tho

  • Look at the rigs from Edelkrone as they have very neat double shoulder rigs

  • Great episode! PVC is a great problem solver. Good build. I'll post at Indie sessions dott com

  • what camera did you used on the shoulder mount ?

  • people, its very rare that indie filmmakers actually buy or make there own stuff. you can rent a professional mount for a week for $20. as well as any other piece of equipment you can think of.

  • 6:04

    Sexy Painting Montage

  • When did you start using the pentax k-5? and why? Always loved that camera wasn't sure about the video though.

  • Whats the music playing during the test shots?

  • the video name says $25 but in the video it says needed $35 at 1:39

  • @musicloveo24 Not to mention the quick release plate is $50... -_-

  • Can we get a list, please?

  • @SociallyIneptFilms sweet, thanks. I'll definitely try it.

  • That's very cool. If you made the weights able to slide back (telescope-style), you could push the camera forward without adding more weight to the rig, just by shifting the center of gravity.

  • OOOKKKAAAAYYYY.... SO HOW WOULD YOU FOCUS WHILE USING THIS? O_o

  • @brandonlamarmusic Since the rig is on both of your shoulders, that added stability allows for you to take one hand off of its handle to focus ,while still stabilizing with the other hand.

    NOW YOU KNOW.

  • Whats the song when he's painting the shouldermount?

  • Whats that song you use for the test shots?

  • How do you adjust focus while using this mount?

  • What if you put a crass brace between the weights? i think it would make it a lot more rigid and solid, cause at the end of the episode it looked a little wobbly by the weights.

  • parkers tutoials

  • @vimlopop Yeah but FilmRiots is better

  • hey ryan, could you show us how to make a diy glidecam/steadycam?

  • the dislike bar is the size of justin biebers dick

  • @bobchrisman lol, there aint any

  • @bobchrisman C'mon beiber doesn't have a cock he's a enuch.

  • @bobchrisman oh look, an other unoriginal comment! SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • @bobchrisman her non-existent penis...

  • @bobchrisman No, the dislike bar is the size of justin biebers clit

  • @bobchrisman 13 inches?

  • @bobchrisman what dick?

  • @matigol1993 amen brah

  • @matigol1993 That's the joke.

  • @matigol1993 Exactly...

  • @bobchrisman He has one??

  • @bleachigo32123 my mistake

  • @bobchrisman what dislike bar

  • @bobchrisman what dislike bar ;)

  • @bobchrisman HE DOSN'T HAVE ONE XD! HAHAHA!

  • @bobchrisman Haha, you know what is even funnier? You are fucking retarded!

  • 13 people tried to like this video again by turning their screen upside down. ;)

  • Yea it is. If you don't count the PVC cutters or the quick plate.

  • pretty sweet video but there is no way in hell that was under $20-$25-or even $35 like you say...

  • Great I'm so using dat for my new batman movie I'm making

  • can you do a snorri cam?

  • check out parker's tutorials, he made one, but your's is nicer

  • There is no way this was $25.

  • @SFtwodeath Built mine for about that.. Still under 30 though..

  • I laughed so hard at 8:42

  • that gray pipe is conduit not PVC

  • great ideaa, whats the music you use for the test shot?

  • what kind of cover plate is used?

  • Dudes!! great idea. Building one 50 cal ASAP. Quick question, what type of lens do you use for the camera? I love the depth it gives.

  • I'm making one today but I've decided to add a stabiliser- what do you think?

  • quite interesting :)

Check out my channel, i've made a couple of films only using homemade accessories

    comment, rate and subscribe pls

  • Have you thought about loading the PVC with lead, cement or another weight source to eliminate the weights on the back. So, you know to clean up the look a bit, since you fancy the pro-ish look

  • Please do a DIY DSLR Fig Rig build! Thumbs up so they can see!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL their own channel's comments are top even though they're only replies to other people, and by that I mean one... (that was a really long comment)

  • what a damn good idea. People break their necks with those regular shoulder mounts

  • soooo .....this is really a $75 DIY shoulder mount, counting the quick release plate, right?

  • @PedroRodolfo13 you can buy the Sima Quick Connect for $8.60 on Amazon.

  • great

  • Come check out our channel for VFX tutorials!!!

  • Just wait until pay day!!!!!

  • cost me about 40 euro's to make :P

  • making one today!

  • looks super nerd

  • where can you get those cover plates?

  • Hey, I found cheaper weights at Walmart!

  • Comment removed

  • this is awesome

  • This is WAY over 25 dollars!

  • HomeDepo should be sponsoring Film Riot, they are always telling people to go there..

  • I am making this today!!

  • Behind the Scenes - Episode 17 - Warning 2012 Apocalypse [2012] Feature Film - youtu.be/QE2sSdMr-fc?hd=1

  • Absolutely awesome, but PLEASE somebody translate this to the metric system...!!!

  • you have a nice house

  • I live in Germany and I didn't find those PVC Pipes now I have tubes that are used for sinks think... Works great I only had to cut two pipes the rest fit perfectly by just sticking them together. Right now the Paint is drying. Can't wait to finish this build^^

  • Does anyone know the name of the music Ryan uses in the test shots of the dual shoulder mount? A name or link would be much appreciated. Love the mount! :)

  • No stupid top comments ???? Best day of my life

  • wath ting is the part black on stay the camera who bay this?

  • I've seen someone use a dual shoulder mount back in 2010 but I don't know where they got it.

  • how did you make those lights in the part that says hollywood

  • 6:58 AHH OH GOD DON'T DROP IT.

  • remember to snap the bolts off with a pair of vicegrips

  • A huge improvement over last weeks build but didn't you grind down the machine screws?

  • how steady is it when you run with it?

  • i spent 21 dollars at homedepot. :)

  • can someone tell me what I need if I am live in UK please I think every UK fan will appreciate it :)

  • @sazalking im from the UK and have just bought everything, hopefully gonna put it all together on monday. I ordered the PVC pipe from a website called 'pisces aqua' just google it. got the cover plate from ebay, just search for steel plate/sheet and find the right size, i got 10cm x 10cm. Also from ebay you can get the pvc cutter and cement quite cheap too. As the for the quick release plate, you can just order that from amazon if you need one, screws from homebase, hope that helped!

  • I did this! It works awesome!! Thanks!! You guys need to do more DIY videos! They're fun to make and very usable!

  • You should do DIY steady cam next time :)

  • Title is wrong, its $35 not $25 :)

  • @cheeseitzz Actually i think the titles right. I got all the supplies for about 25

  • check out my channel. subscribe please!

  • What is the music in the 'demonstration' part?

  • do you guys make the music? like the background music playing during the test shot?

  • Hbvhhhhhhjj

  • I'm loving it but I'm thinking there needs to be a way to add a follow focus on the handle. Nothing big but something small and inside or next to the handle so you can control the focus with your thumb. Also maybe adding an extension piece in the center so working it like a jib is a little more natural; could save some room and possible be used to add a snorricam attachment

  • lol @ 9:06 josh looks like chris Hemsworth with a short hair..lol

  • Btw, how long is the long pieces of PVC for this rig?

  • Awesome

  • Just realised josh looks a little like muscles glasses

  • dude, do more vfx

  • THE QUICK RELEASE IS 50 DOLAAR

  • I'm gonna go build this!

    I love you Film Riot

  • 8:00 what is the song name

  • the manfrotto 577 looks quite expensive, over $50, would the giottos MH631 work equally as well? as it is half the price

  • @chrisdon13 I think it would work. The reason I think he chose a manfrotto was because manfrotto is a brand that's widely used on all kinds of devices and is super compatible, so he could transfer it from tripod to dual shoulder to single shoulder without removing the plate from the camera

  • If you google dual shoulder mount NOW, FilmRiot is one of the first things to come up.

  • @turtleblearch Awesome!

  • parkers tutorials made one on the 6th of jan of 2012

  • @Megait1 I'll have to check his out.

  • Hey Ry! I was wondering would a propane burner work on pvc?
