Well said! I first heard his 'Beautiful Noise' as it were, when I was a teenager also, and would you believe time has only served to make his music richer? I hope waking up on a Chelsea Morning sets you on a Brooklyn Road thru the rest of the day! Be well.

Yes! we will make mistakes along the way. We will fail many times and in those failures we will realise that in the end it was well worth. I too have been this way before, and most likely will be back again. It is in the trying and not giving-up where the journey it's at it best. Neil Diamond 20th century greatest singer/songwriter.
an excellent artist at the peak of his career. (only neil has been peaking for about 30 years now!) the best marriage of a song and its singer i've heard since josh groban sang "when you say you love me".
I remember buying this on a 45 rpm at "The Melody Shop" Bassett Center in El Paso, TX early 1975! I was in Junior High when this was played on the radio. I went home and played it over and over again...The grooves on my record literally turned white because of the many times I played it! Thanx for the post, pieOmy!
Shocking that i m now 40 and only just discovered the talent of neil diamond, yes, i knew the songs, but did'nt look further, and this is a fabulous track, where have i been?????
If you enjoy Neil Diamond try his version of "I Dreamed A Dream" from Hot August Night 2 (1987). Compare with Susan Boyle and all the others. Also, check out the change in lyrics. Video link posted above.
I wasn't too impressed with this song when I first heard it in 1974. On Aug. 10, 1976, I saw Neil in concert, and he sang this song at the end. From then on, I've loved it. That was my first Neil Diamond arena concert. My most recent was on Aug. 10, 2008 (although he didn't sing this song). Exactly 32 years apart. Right in the middle of those two dates was Aug. 10, 1992. Guess where I was that night! Pure coincidence - at a Neil Diamond concert! I should mark my calendar now for Aug. 10, 2024!
one of the songs sang at my bro's memorial service years ago, i was 15, he was only 19 and it still sucks that he's gone
