peanuts is the most entertaining cartoon ever, not juz entertaining but have elements of knowledge, philosophy, and theology.hands down to Sir Charles Schulz
Peppermint Patty in "The Magic Closet". Omg, too much irony.......
Head hurts from the irony......
But it's nice to see an independent girl character who both straight and lesbian girls can identify with. She may have not been intended to be gay, but come on.
@Sammydoodle14: Intent is everything, though. I don't mind that both types of girls look up to Peppermint Patty, but in my opinion, the creator's word is law in his work, which means that Peppermint Patty is merely a tomboy who comes on strong. Marcie Johnson though--due to being based on Billy Jean King, who was a lesbian--just might be batting for both sides, due to her mutual crush on "Charles" (just like Peppermint Patty) & that she seems to enjoy the control her 'superior' has over her.
And that wasn't the only thing I pointed out: Schulz pointed out that every one of the characters on peanuts were his his split personallity.Charlie Brown was his wishy washy personality, Lucy was his crabby side but He never MENTIONED about FRANKLIN
I love him. Snoopy was the first character I ever draw! ^_^ He is my idol. I wrote to him once before he died. Hallmark & Dorney Park is the only place to get snoopy stuff. We miss you Charles! Ya look like my Grandpa 80% true. Love you. Peanuts forever. I use to collect the comics in the papers. I wish Pepeperment Patty would say Charlie just this once instead of Chuck, I hate Chuck name.
In the one where Snoopy gets married, she claims at the beginning that her father is going out of town and she needs Snoopy to com be her watch dog, as she will be by herself.

This shows all the characters that never should hve been included (eexcluding Schroeder and Lucy). During the mid 70's it started focussing on Peppermint Patty and Marcie, Snoopy and Woodstock and Spike in the desert and far less on Charlie Brown and his usual friends. They aloso repalced 2 character that never should have been removed, Violet & Freida. Also when the girls started wearing pants instead of dresses. That's what lead to its decline and cartoons like Garfield becomming more popular.
Thanks Chuck for laughter and empathy..
And for teaching us to love ourselves, and weather the Lucys of this world..
I grew up on your humor and never once felt left out or offended. You left the world a true gem.

If Schulz were alive today, I wonder what he'd say about the Robot Chicken sketches based on his work?
"That's for years of humiliation...I never have any idea what any adult says! It's always that wah-wah-wah crud!"
Did I mention Charlie kicks Lucy?

Lucy was introduced in March 1952 not January 1952.

Funny how Marcie would always call P.P. Sir.
Did you know that Marcie may have been based on Billie Jean King? Schultz and King were reportedly good friends.

He was supposedly on the scene about the same time as Peppermint Patty.
How come he didn't acknowledge him? Good pointout, Kento. Thanx.

Holy cow, that scene with Peppermint Patty in the box is violent!!! LOL, but then again, people were calmer about that stuff in cartoons back then.

Heh Shroeder's facial expression during the Lucy's dance segment where she's singing about marrying him someday is the best.
