@jamesclews233 I am a European and a huge Fedor Emelianenko fan. On the other hand I have watched tons of UFC fights and have paid special attention to guys like GSP (I know, he's not in Fedor's weight category but how can I not mention on that guy), Anderson Silva (again, see above), Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar. In particular, I believe that Fedor would not stand a chance against either Carwin or Lesnar. He's on a decline atm and I doubt he has ever been as skilled as any of those two.
@Eagleputt in all fairness fedor is still better skilled then lesnar even with fedors 1st loss in my personal opinion and as for carwin that would be a fight i would love to see considering no ones ever had the chance to see what carwin could really do, as for fedor on the decline, not really and his recent loss to werdum was clearly a mistake on fedors part which werdum capitalized on gratz on the win to werdum even though im a fedor fan, still no1 to me will look forward to the rematch.
@jamesclews233 I think you have a point when stating that Fedor is much more skilled that Lesnar. Lesnar's game is pretty much one sided whereas Fedor has huge skills both in Sambo and in boxing. On the other hand I still think Lesnar would beat Fedor since that guy is huge, powerful, extremely fast and has really good takedowns. As for Fedor vs Carwin, that would be a great match imo. Did you watch the Mir vs Carwin match btw? Carwin showed some great skills on that one.

@jamesclews233 Well, we seem to be in agreement.. The Lesnar vs Carwin fight is a really tough one to call. I believe that standing up, Carwin has the advantage. But if the fight goes to the ground (and I believe Brock will aim at that) then Brock most likely will have the upper hand. All that body mass is damn effective at controlling his opponent. Btw, I've watched the Carwin vs Mir fight last night along with my gf, and damn was she happy to see Mir getting knocked out. She really detest him.

@remix720 Man, I watched the Carwin vs Brock fight and I felt so bad for Carwin. He was so close to getting that victory but he did a huge mistake by exhausting himself out. Stamina is extremely important for these kind of fights. Btw, I found Brocks stand up fighting to be of much lower level than Carwin's. On a funny note, I was laughing my guts out when Carwin winked at Brock. They are both crazy, for sure.

Brock is the real deal now, he has picked up on basic submission defenses, and has found positions that suit him well in MMA. But, I do not think brock will be able to resist the urge to follow Frank Mir to the ground. I think Frank will either get tagged by a long right hand, or just fall over under the pressure of strikes and win it from his back again.
I believe Frank Mir will catch Brock again (2nd rd or later). Im thinking an omoplata/ankle lock tank abbot style, brock wont just let mir grab his leg like last time so frank will set it up with an omoplata(to get brock thinking Upperbody) and swing back for the ankle.

100% agree. Did you see Mir's striking? It was off the charts. Obviously he has dedicated most of his time to striking. But if the fight goes to the ground (and I believe Brock will aim at that) then Brock most likely will have the upper hand. All that body mass is damn effective at controlling his opponent. Btw, I've watched the Carwin vs Mir fight last night along with my gf, and damn was she happy to see Mir getting knocked out. She really detest him.

@remix720 Man, I watched the Carwin vs Brock fight and I felt so bad for Carwin. He was so close to getting that victory but he did a huge mistake by exhausting himself out. Stamina is extremely important for these kind of fights. Btw, I found Brocks stand up fighting to be of much lower level than Carwin's. On a funny note, I was laughing my guts out when Carwin winked at Brock. They are both crazy, for sure.

Brock is the real deal now, he has picked up on basic submission defenses, and has found positions that suit him well in MMA. But, I do not think brock will be able to resist the urge to follow Frank Mir to the ground. I think Frank will either get tagged by a long right hand, or just fall over under the pressure of strikes and win it from his back again.

I believe Frank Mir will catch Brock again (2nd rd or later). Im thinking an omoplata/ankle lock tank abbot style, brock wont just let mir grab his leg like last time so frank will set it up with an omoplata(to get brock thinking Upperbody) and swing back for the ankle.
But it is MMA so we will see. Either fighter could win, I just see many more ways for Frank Mir.

I think with Barnett, if he can wrestle Fedor down, he may win on points but he won't hurt Fedor bad. If Fedor is able to slip in a sweep, or ends up on top at any time, I think Barnett will be in big trouble...I think Fedor would win on points AND hurt Barnett from the top.
Standing up, Barnett isn't as good but has knockout power so no telling

I heard it takes place August 1st on Affliction: Trilogy. But anyways its a death sentence for Barnett, he struggled with Fedors little brother Aleksander so this should be an easy match for him, I don't think hes going to take Barnett lightly whether there friends or not, because its his fighting record and rank on the line, and if Fedor loses Afflictions organization could end up going down and that would suck.

Check nogueira's article in wiki. Nogueira was ill days aftrer the bout....that would explained why he couldn't take the punishment, not even elusive it

I think Nog was in good shape, at least he said he was and prepared. What did Nog do, eat a bunch of fatty foods and watch porn all day? No EXCUSES! Nog got his ass kicked by an American, true and blue, fair and square. Nog could not even stand up afterward, and if the ref left Mir to keep hitting they'd be shipping Nog's ass to intensive care via Ambulance. His trainer said Nog will need time to heal. That said, Nog can train to come back better.

Well in defense alot of Americans have gotten their asses handed to them by Brazilian fighters who i would say are the most dominant nation in the sport.Plus when they said Nog needed tiem to heal I think it was more mental than physical.

C'mon Guys. Mir has to be praised for his win but let me correct the exaggeration here. Nog was not in top shape and he went down a few times in an attempt to bring MIR to the ground, where he's a specialist. Silva was indeed knocked out, Nogueira was not and probably is never gonna be. To beat Nog in his top form, there was only one man, and his name is Fedor.

I love Nog, he's a great man, and an infamously talented HW in MMA, a legend. But Frank Mir deserved this win, and he went out there and DOMINATED Nog. Nog was completely outmatched. Mir's heart, intelligence, and preparation in this fight truly paid off, and give all he's been through, as a fan, I'm so proud of him!

100% agree. Did you see Mir's striking? It was off the charts. Obviously he has dedicated most of his time to striking. Just like Evans, if you dedicate yourself to 1 aspect you can become very good at it. Mir knows the groung. His cardio and striking were only in question. He doesn't have to work ground. It's riding a bike for him. I am by no means a Fedoe hater but Dana offered him a huge contract a he turned it down. If you're the best, fight the best. I think Lesnar destroys him and Mir too.

Fedor wants to do other tournaments outside of the ufc like sambo, and the ufc will not allow, and it seems most ufc fighters leave the ufc for fedor... he doesnt have to go to them
