Put on the curriculum in kindergarten and fon, why some jobs are are interesting. How many hours a day you need to work to get by, and how much you can get with the same hours as a graduate. teach then what types of things they need to know to becomes a CSI investigator. Teach them that looks will age and as an end game you can only lose. it what you know and who you are that keeps you interesting. Give them role models who keep their close on.
@lisaseeman I agree. Recuiting great teachers misses the point. The public school systems are built for specific reasons: to instill obediance in pupils and to provide a modium of formalzied learning to generations of workers and employees. Thus, these schools are successes not failures except when it comes to preparation.

Considering how many successful people are self taught I think this misses the main point.
I learnt next to nothing in school - so what.
Motivation comes form the home, and, in terms of education, can come at any age including kindergarten..
