Man you are a pro. Is it ok for cables like this to be 10 meters long or more? I am connecting my computer to a stereo system and apparently there can be electronic inteference between it and the speakers so I need this cable to be quite long :D

Nothing wrong with doing it DIY Mikes way but Much neater and simpler to use a Quad type cable. Mogami makes a mini quad that is readily available and will fit through the shell of the Neutrik/Rean mini 3.5mm plug. Canare mini Star Quad will fit with a little filing of the shells feed-thru.

Can also do a 4 wire braid with 4 seperate, insulated wires which is really easy to work with at the connectors. Google DIY 4 wire braid or "litz" braiding etc.

ok im going out of my mind here tyring to find the raw diy cables needed to make audio cables, stereo cables that is, so they must have 2 conductors, 1 drain wire, so that makes 3 cores yes?, and all of them insultated, so i been searching for hours now, but i cant find where i can find reels of this kind of cable, been on maplin, ebay, amazon, google, everywhere but i cant find it, please point me in the right direction in what i should search for, i searched for everything ic an think of

Hi MIke, thanks for making this video. I don't know if I am not seeing properly or what. The cable you got has three conductors (black (-), white (+), drain), in the miniplug you solded the whites (+) to the side conectors and the black (-) to the back to the middle pin.
