  • UP should charge them $10,000 per year for every car and loco with UP and SP deisgns/logos on them as license fees.

  • @otef434 Charge ORHF? Why do you say that?

  • @4449steam why not, it would be a nice profit center for my stocks. It's their trademarks, not yours.

  • @otef434 I'm so with you. Money is way more important than history. Hell, I hold steel stocks, lets scrap them out and really make a few pennies!

  • @Polybun You people and all your money. Do me a favor won't you please??? Blow it out your ass... :)

  • @AMH9217 Well how about I use your name, for free, and slap it on some old obsolete piece of crap? That thing is a joke compared to modern machines and shouldn't even be allowed on the rail. I wonder if the people are aware that if that boiler lets go in their naiborhood it'll level. it.

  • @Polybun I honestly don't mind if you ask me. :) It's nothing more then some letters that make up a sound. It makes no sense to charge a (non-profit) organization for a name on the side of a box car on display 95-99.9% of the time. And there are (trained) engineers out there who know boilers. They won't (PASS) a boiler test if its not safe for operations. I don't know how much you know about trains and there equipment, but for starts, you shouldn't comment on something YOUR not educated in. :)

  • @AMH9217 The fact is all it takes is a few errors on the crews part and that boiler will go off like a bomb no matter how good the inspection is. It's the inevitable fate of all steam equipment. One day, sooner or later, the crown sheet will come uncovered and kaboom, people will die.

  • @Polybun The fact of the matter is LOGIC. :) So, lets be straight here shall we? If a boiler can explode, (due too high pressure, or safty valves don't give, ect) so can a diesel locomotive. A SD40-2, GP38-2, a Dash 9, a SD70MAC, a ES44AC, even a SD70ACe. ANYTHING can be spontaneously explode when you look at the big picture. So, once again, PLEASE, I ask of you to not comment on these types of things until you become MORE educated in these areas. :)

  • @AMH9217 Correction* ( ANYTHING can spontaneously explode when...)

  • @AMH9217 The problem is they don't normally fail due to over pressure, they fail due to crew error. All you have to do is run the boiler low on water, which can happen for any number of reasons, including false readings at sight glass, and kaboom. One mistake on the crews part and hundreds can die if that thing lets go in a populated area. Sounds like you are the one that needs an education.

  • @Polybun Like you said, "...crew error..." it can happen with anything besides a steam engine. :)

  • @AMH9217 The difference is, crew error on a diesel electric doesn't level 2 or 3 city blocks in the blast.

  • @4449steam I have no idea who or what an ORHF is, but they are like every other organization using a a trademarked scheme or likeness. Don't you think the owner of that has a right to be compensated?

  • @otef434 Dude, I seriously don't understand you. You want them to take money away from a non for profit organization because they have some equipment mainted in the SP. I don't even think they have the right to do that since ORHF is not selling their logos for money. You really think $50,000 even $100,000 is much compared to how much they make yearly? Wow...

  • @CoasterFan2105 It's their property, so why not make it another profit center? So long as it boosts my stock's value, I don't care where it comes from.

  • @otef434 You're a dick. And f*%k your investment. I hope you go bankrupt.

  • @joshandkorinna Naw, that aint gonna happen. Last I looked, my investments are pretty secure. If it were a logo I owned, I would absolutely make sure it's appearance is appropriate and consistent with the image I wish it to project.

And if I were a D****, which I am not, don't you think I would use worse language than you have summoned up?

  • @otef434 Asshole...

  • @AMH9217 I am so shocked that out of over 10,000 words, that is all you can muster. I bet you know how to better express yourself.

  • Sweet Video!

  • So, I assume there not enough money to build a new roundhouse quite yet isn't there? So everything for the most part is being stored over by Lake Yard? Do you guys know how long It will be stored there? Kinda sad, but better then being scraped!!!

  • @AMH9217 The building process for the new Roundhouse has begun. Groundbreaking was on the 21st. That equipment was moved to NW Portland because there was not enough room for it at Brooklyn anymore, as some track removal and yard clean up had started. There also is no current room for this equipment at the new roundhouse.

  • @4449steam AHH! Okay! Can the public donate $ to ORHF???

  • @AMH9217 Or for the new construction to the round house???

  • Dude the FA-1 was made by ALCO!

  • @GintaPPE1000 HOW COULD I HAVE REPLACED ALCO WITH EMD?! >< There are too many EMDs running around.

  • @4449steam Ah well everyone makes mistakes.

  • @4449steam EMD rocks!

  • Is this going to be the new location for all of the equipment or is it just temporary?

  • @Fiddleman200616 Just temporary

  • INCREIBLE MOVILIZANDO UN HOSPITAL

  • What is the roadname for the Alco FA seen at 3:32?

  • @KingofTomedy DLMX 866 (ex-Spokane, Portland, and Seattle)

  • where are they going to store the stuff for the time beeing?

  • @2005GLI The stuff in the video? The stuff in the video is now being stored in NW Portland's industrial area near BNSF/UP's Lake Yard

  • @4449steam are they going to keep it outside or find a place to keep it indoors so it doesn't start rusting away?

  • @2005GLI All of the equipment is outside, in a gated siding.

  • its so sad i went there back in 2008 and why are they demolishing the roundhouse anyways

  • are the steam engines and everything else staying in the roundhouse until the end of the year

  • @trainboy32 Yeah

  • Boy, its been a while since I saw that Clackamas River car in action.

  • Awesome!!

  • So why were these pieces of equipment moved? Are they vacating the Brookyln round house?

    Alex

  • @trainmaster55 Yes. The roundhouse doesn't need to be vacated until the end of the year, but everything else had to move.

  • nice:)
