  • 4:26 - Looks like he is pissing off the djinni LOL :D

  • So wait, does that mean even if you choose your character as a fighter, you can still do magic? Or in other words, no matter who you choose to begin with, you can access all traits of all three characters?

  • @ToniTheMink That's essentially the case, yes.

  • @ToniTheMink

You only need to have at least one point in all skills, and you can level up any skill, thus being all-round character. IT would seem you cannot get all of them, as you do not have enough skill points to add to everything, the trick is to add 1 skill point instead of normally 5 skill points into a skill - the game allows you to normally raise the skill level by 5, but you can give it just one. Simply watch LateBlt's first video of Hero's Quest 1 to see what I mean.

  • i guess the thie's ending is the "Real" one since ad avis was supposed to fall off the ledge according to QFG4.

  • @FredB127 Actually, he also fell down with the wizard ending. He caught fire and fell down, which would also be why he looks so different in QFG4, perhaps?

  • @Squiglypig Im pretty sure he looks different in QFG4 cuz hes a vampire...

  • @LordofDragns I'm just saying that burning will change your appearence.

  • it seems if u have no thief skills and enter the harlem room, I ended up in the room with kharveen. I first tried to force myself through the main gate but they kept calling more guards. I used a magic rope and went into that room and ended up on the balcony thing and thought that made sense. After watching your lets play I went wtf when i saw you go through that same room and ended up somewhere else.

    I preferred fighting karaveen anyways.

  • as long as you have thr reversal spell the game will force you to beat the game like a wizard

  • Very interesting... I honestly did not know that. Thank you for letting me know; at last, it's clear why I kept getting stuck in this room!

  • Djinni: "We did it! Hurray! Doo hoo hoo hoo hoo."

  • My copy of QFG2 was in bad shape and I could not see the thief ending. But I prefer this fighting end pretty much!

  • actually, I remember as a pure fighter I just fought the gargoyle thing. every one of my stats were maxed to 200, that might have helped somewhat. I also wished for weapon use, agility for the fighter...I think...it was such a long time ago!

  • Actually, typically a Fighter is supposed to throw something at the door.

Of course, best Fighters use magic anyway.

Also, I think you type 'fight' to engage in a fight and you 'run'? Maybe... the remake's so much awesome anyways.

Love the job you did on it. *gets engulfed by floor flame* "That sucks..."

Did you guys ever play the remake? Ohhhh man, it is SOOOO good.

  • My fighter just beat up the statue rather than running away from it. Hm...

  • I have NEVER been able to do that. Sword attacks don't seem to hurt the statue at all.

  • Someone mentioned trying to use reversal on the thief sequence, and I saw your response to that... I wonder if you level your reversal up so that it'll last a while when you cast it, then cast it back at the part before you sneak into the harem room, if it'll last long enough to work on ad avis... hmmm

  • That's an interesting thought... Unfortunately I didn't build up the Reversal spell enough for it to last that long.

  • I could be wrong, as it's been a long time since I've played, but could you also levitate before Ad Avis casts that reversal-breaking spell?

  • The game uses adventure-game logic to prevent you from doing so. If you type "cast levitate," the genie says "No, master! You need to keep your feet on the ground!"

  • According to CyricZ's FAQ:

"If you have a rock or dagger, throw it at the door to activate the magic trap on it"

I think you have to type "escape" to get away from the statue, but my Fighter was pure-classed.

  • I tried typing "escape," and the statue just kept knocking me down. I think that if you have some magical ability, you can't escape that way, and need to use the Trigger spell. I could be wrong, but that was my conclusion.

  • forgive my ignorance of the game mechanics, but couldn't you have also used reversal on yourself during the thief end game segment instead of having to dupe all those throwing knives?

  • If you use the thief ending to come up to the ritual chamber from the outside, the game responds "A magical force makes it impossible to cast spells here." if you try to cast ANY spell, including non-projectile spells like Reversal.

  • whoops, I see someone else already said it. lol

  • You don't have to rebound the bolt off the wall. In fact I didn't know you could do that until you showed it. What I always did was just run to the left and shot straight at the pot from there. The angle was straight enough so it spilled straight onto ad avis.

  • Aziza mentioned an Ifret.

An Ifret is a persian fire monster.

It appears in the Final Fantasy series as a

    Summoning.

  • And in Devil May Cry, probably a few more games.

  • The endgame sequence connects nicely to the fortune the astrologer gives you. "Darkness will triumph unless you stop the last light" indeed!

If you avoid Khaveen outside the chamber, he arrives from the doorway on the left just in time to be hit with the reflected transformation spell. Interestingly he turns into a snake. Ad Avis should learn to pick more reliable henchmen.

  • I've noticed you pronounce Iblis "Ib-liss". It's actually pronounced "Ib-lees" like how you say "geese".

  • you could always run to the left and just cast the force bolt spell ON the brazier itself ;). EASIER that way.

  • Can you do that? I just did it this way because the hint book says to... I'm not sure I even have enough time to run that far left before Ad Avis' spell gets me... But it's worth a shot, thanks. :)

  • Yes, that's how I had done it in the past, too. I actually never knew you could play billiards with the pillars! That's much more awesome, in my opinion. I will try it your way when I next play it.
