  • A go-around was a good decision!

  • Good

  • The pilots managet as real professionals!

  • I try not to fly in the air because it's dangerous. Sitting on my couch seems to be ok though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ur continent racist!

  • All airlines are subject to have to land in a strong crosswind. It sucks, but its part of flying.

  • this looks like air india

  • Europe? This is why I don't fly at all......anywhere.

  • "woah woah pull up, boss. PULL UP!"

  • lol at the backlash in the comments...

  • Youch!

  • Fine, stay away from Europe. We don't need morons here.

But, guess what? The same can happen to you all over the world. Also in the United States of Hubris.

    LOL

  • US AIRWAYS DOES NOT FLY A321 to Europe NOT EVEN , it would not make it.

  • nice vide and ridicoulously stupid title!

  • You're right. Stay away from Europe. We will breath better without you.

  • Because cross-wind only happens in Europe... #facepalm

  • flag it for being a stolen video if anything. i'll contact rui and let him know.

  • You realize wind shear exists everywhere on the planet, right? It's not a European thing...

  • FLAG FOR MISLEADING TITLE...

  • great job by pilot dont force a bad position ...seems like a good reason to fly europe

  • Us Air?

  • @taylorgpa Right, because US Airways flies A321s to Europe. Airline is TAP Portugal.

  • saved assss

  • I wish I knew this before flying to South Africa! I could have told the pilot to ignore the strong winds and windshear at Johannesburg because it only happens in Europe...

  • Good flying and correct decision I would say

  • Good, less dumcunts coming in to Europe!

  • @KPAracing LOL! agreed

  • strong winds, possible windshear, go around seemed like a good call to me.

  • nice video, but i had similar experience outside of Europe as well... so the title of the video is bs.

  • he was like fuck this shit im going

  • go around procedure... better that then trying to land and crash the hell out of that plane!

  • if thats a shitty pilot.....than im able to manifest anything i want at will...that pilot has skills...like crazy.

  • good skills i say

  • is the pilot are stuntman of "tokyo drift" Lol

  • you can't hate on european pilots because of the weather conditions, he did exactly what any other smart pilot would do, weather there american, russian, asia, south american, canadian, afircan.

  • TAP has the best pilots ,,, well it used to, now some shitty private company is taking over and TAP is losing its prestige .. fail.

  • its because TAP is the shitest compeny , trust me it usally takes me to go to lisboa like 2 hours by plain from england , and it took my brother four on tap

  • @DEgamerJOHNx lol not true ! they all travel at the same airspeed. unless diffrent planes. and TAP pilots are actually really good pilots! V E R Y S K I L L E D :)

  • Hm so crosswinds only occur in Europe? I didnt know that.

  • i do not see the problem, i whip my plane back and forth all day o.O

  • CPT dał radę!

  • thumbs down to the title.....thumbs up to the video!

  • ahahah you are a STUPID..... bad weather conditions only exists in Europe.. ???

  • @Linaiago Ya, only in Yurrup! No bad weather or bad landings in the rest of the lucky, lucky world!

  • All I can say is the pilot is very skilled handling crosswinds and in the last minute he decide to go around for a new try.

  • Anyone that would say something like that has never tried to put a plane on the ground in a strong crosswind. It is not easy and you have to applaud that pilot for the effort. Crosswind can happen anywhere...even the good ole USA.

  • I think id quit flying if that happened to me to, probably wet my pants and scream like a girl. Although it does seem like the pilot should never have been given clearance to even attempt a landing in those conditions. Looked like a 50+knot crosswind.

  • The plane is doing whats known as a crabbing manoeuvre when the cross wind is too strong. The pilot made the right decision. Good on them!

  • In a comedy sketch show I once saw where the presenter was asking questions of Americans in the street, when asked to name a country begining with "U" they couldn't name their own. (Another guy, who knew what KFC stood for, still couln't answer which state it comes from.)

  • stay away from europe then asshole

  • @robertsasyannick Idiot !! it's the fucking asshole !! why you say that ?!! patetic

  • @IQuentinI fuck you hahahahahahahaha !

  • Comment removed

  • Don´t came.

In Europe we dont like stupid people like you

  • Let me one wild guess... American? That would explain your shit geography skills.

  • WTF is wrong with flying like that. I would pay £5.55 or $8 extra for that

  • This can happen anywhere... pilot should be applauded if you ask me.

  • You fucking Americans... We lived soo much good after the Shit of Moodys Cut us! And At Lisbon Never happned an Acident Not even an Crosswind anymore But BTW Im fucked up With moody's

  • I LIVE IN LISBON DAMMIT THAT DONT HAPPENS FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    THAT ONLY HAPPNED IN 2002!

  • I LIVE IN LISBON DAMMIT THAT DONT HAPPENS FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so what theres no wind outside of europe?

  • @Elbastardo117 Clearly the point is both pilots must have been sucking each other off.

  • @Elbastardo117 Nailed it.

  • well, if you'd rather be kocked sideways by the wind and die, be my guest

  • My friend. That is TAP Portugal. If you do some digging you'll find that's one of the top air companies in terms of safety. With those, you can fly ... with some others ... huuummmm ...

  • I bet that does not know where Europe is, American retard!

  • The passengers probably shit themselves but still, this takes a massive amount of skill.

  • you suck

  • going around!

  • hay dumbass, he did exactly the right thing counteracting the crosswinds and preforming a go around when the landing bacame unsafe you arrogant mofo

  • That looks fun. Hell, on every flight I've been on I wish that I'd encounter crosswinds and... hopefully... go-around.

  • yeah only happends in europe? retard

  • Title Had nothing to do with the video....He's on the no fly list

  • very good pilot! I would want to hug the guy for saving me after that.

  • And of course this doesn't happen anywhere else than in Europe. Fucking retarded troll.

  • You won't be miss in Europe, that's for sure.

  • 108 people are retarded americans. No surprise here...

  • The pilot made the right decision. You have to applaud him for that.

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 he only made the right decision after nearly dieing, he should have gone around or went alternate from before he flew over the runway. At least he didnt nose it into the ground and kill everyone

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 yepper! good call for the go around.

  • Respond to this video... If ya dont like the wind and cross wind landings you wont want to fly in Texas either! LOL!

  • @helobelow The very first time I was ever on a plane we landed in Texas......and one of the wheels went off the runway into the grass. I just about wet myself (and I was 19).

    LOL

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 LMAO!!! Yeah I try and keep it on the RWY, fortunately I fly helicopters for a living and I keep it into wind when landing for the most part. The big carriers try and stick their landings on the first time to save themselves big money avoiding go arounds and delays.(If you miss the landing you get sent back to the end of the line so to speak) I think they are getting a lot better about safety these days and utilizing CRM to improve safety. Sorry ya had some bad flights! Cheers!

  • if i was on that plane it wouldnt have mattered if we had crashed and burned or not.... because i literally would have had a heart attack and died on the plane lol

  • @KiaShah I've been on a plane in winds like that... only worse... really strong gusts.

By the time the pilot aborted our approach I could see the runway a good way off to the side of the plane.

That is... we were way over the grass.

I've done some stupid things and been in some kinda life-threatening situations... but that's the most "I'm gonna die" moment I've had to date.

We diverted to an airport on the coast (about an hour away) where the wind was steadier and got a bus ride home.

  • is tap pilots. they are professional. they only crashed 1 time in years ! .

  • At least the Pilot aborted the landing!!!

  • @couragio235 yup, good call.

  • Hmmmm..... cross-wind or sleeping air traffic controller? Hmmmm....

  • Considering the news of the past few weeks, I am rather glad I don't have to fly in the U.S.!

  • I salute this pilot for making the proper decision at the right time and being able to remain in control while the environment is trying his skills.

  • Some good flying here! Hats off to the pilot!

  • 09/11/2001, why i don't fly in america anymore :)

  • Landings like this can happen anywhere, Europe does not have a monopoly on severe crosswinds. :P

  • Wow, this is like saying all black people smoke dope and are in a gang.

Or that all Americans are arrogant peices of shit that have the sole purpose of dropping nukes on other countries.

Okay the first was sarcasm, the second I'm not so sure about.

  • @snedie69er The second became sarcasm since this whole green movement took off. People started whining about radiation and nuclear winters and all that crap.

  • wouldnt like to be on that flight...... that pilot should get fired

  • @LemonMeringuePie444 Really? For what? Realizing it wasn't safe to try to land, and therefore saving all those lives? Or for causing the winds?

  • @rrz518 yes mate!! lol at @LemonMeringuePie444

  • Hahha! happy im not on that flight!

  • Europe pilots > All other pilots... Sorry

  • Haaaa it's as if the plane is pissed doing a happy dance on landing.

  • You said Europe because you didn't know where Lisboa was... ahaha retard.

  • @Marmalade624

american retard :) ... we all from Europe, we are aaaaaaaaall in hell, we have crosswinds here, anywhere on earth there are not ... what amazaing theory :D

  • @Marmalade624

He knows Lisboa is Lisbon, so I doubt your statement is accurate

  • @Marmalade624 lol lisboa is in europe.....and it says lisboa in the video the whole time!!!!! u and the 90 people that liked this need vanish from this world.

  • @Marmalade624 Lisboa is the capital city from Portugal and Portugal is in Europe...hahaha retard +90 xD

  • @PaveLow1000 You don't get it do you, numbskull :(

  • @Marmalade624 Hahaha :)

  • Cry baby cry! It's just so hard to land in these weather conditions...

Let's see if you can do better !

  • I´m so proud to be portuguese ! *.*

PORTUGAL RULES ( football AND flying! ) awesomez xD

  • You wont fly in europe because of crosswinds, which you get all over the world and are far stronger in places like the US? Your logic is idiotic.

  • @domdjcool his logic just isnt logic. lol

  • @domdjcool, your such a SWEET thing.....here, let me bend over and I will let you KISS MY ASS :)

  • I had that same scenario at Newark - 757 tried to land twice in 45-50mph crosswind. Couldn't do it - after two crazy aborted landings (with windshear alarms and everything) we diverted to Philadelphia. So its just the same here in the US.

  • your title is stupid the guy did good considering how extreme the weather was i think more aal planes have crashed than any other european airlines has so screw you lol

  • Right at 00:27 he is like .. well .. shit

  • he he you think you should not fly in europe american pilots suck at crosswind. Most of the time they fuck up but US europeans rock at flying

  • That was definitely a TOGA button abort.

  • The video actually belongs to another youtube user... oh, by the way, you also get crosswinds in the US... so you might as well just NOT FLY AT ALL.

  • Everyone dissing this guy just proves your racist...

us Americans are no different than Europeans...

y'all are just mad at one guy cause one landing that wasn't perfect

  • Superb flying skills. Kudos to the pilot.

  • That's fine with me! Americans make a mess out of each country they "visit" anyway!

  • hahaha moonwalking plane

  • lol what the fuck

  • Should of aborted landing at MDA not on short final. Just got worse, an added microburst on that approach and seconds from disaster !

  • hey at least in the usa they drop you to our office, no need for a go arond in bad weather, hey waht floor are you? 78, no problem, here you go. whack

  • @looneyirish dude im Irish and thats really not cool like come on im only 15 and i would have more common sense about this.

  • @ryanair737400 your plastic irish,

you have no common sense, if you were irish, you would say the country it was filmed in, and not a whole , giving away that you are a yank, planes go through this weather all the time man, you age has nothing to do with it man

  • That can happen in the US also. Just terrible weather conditions. Honestly, I would of shitted in my pants if I was inside that plane.

  • wow how did he control that

  • Pussy.

  • Indian pilot

  • dude, its a 1 off..

  • It´s good that u don´t fly in europe anymore cause i´m sure u´re american. I mean north american. We anyway don´t wanna have to much of u guys here and at the same time there is no reason to fly to u´r country cos we fuckin hate those stupid controls and crazy visa terms of u scared psychos.

Please stay back at home where everything is so safe. Carry u´r gun and feel safe buddy!

  • The pilot should have gone around earlier if he was in such a strong turbulent crosswind.

  • Typical english weather

  • I think you should had said "this is why i will allways fly in Europe" specially on TAP Portugal, amazing pilots, amazing planes and surelly one off the saffest companies in the world.

  • It is CLEAR that this or these pilots have very poor X-wind landing technique ! same happens here in the US. there are MANY ! less than stallar aviators in the skies these days. i do agree though- Europe / Asia and the "US outsourced" feeders are all prime examples of accidents waiting to happen...

  • @reino757

sorry mate but you cant judge how much force the next gust of wind will be fact,

you can only control as it happens, if you fly planes you would have an idea about this

  • Bad cross winds, thus he had to crab it in.. that weather can be anywhere not just europe

  • i cannot understand why you don't fly in europe anymore - the great pilots from great airlines like this make it safe - I am guessing you are American?

  • ok i got this o w8t no oo w8t ya oo nope

  • You don't fly in europe because of awesome pilots like this? Wtf?

  • @mikitymike i wouldnt excactly say awesome!

  • 0:22 Birdstrike warning

  • @WhiteSuper09

    That fuckin cracked me up!!!

  • @WhiteSuper09 The bird was nowhere near the plane. Just in the line of sight between the camera and the plane...

  • Just stop flying if you can't support a safe flight..

  • Yes, crosswinds only exist in Europe. Thank god you're safe now!

  • @h0pje They're importing them now!

  • Why i don`t fly in Europe anymore?! Don`t know where y`re from but, hope you stay there! ;)

  • the cabin is now filled with vomit after that

  • good pilot!

  • Good decision, good pilot, would be stupid if he decided for the runway instead of aborting the landing with a MFing crosswind like that

  • Great recovery, with solar heating not pollution your going to see heavy jets go up against wind speeds they have not been designed for. Gusts to 200mph from changing convection currents could be common. This is similar to hitting oil on a motorcycle, panic your toast.

  • Wtf?

its called Crosswinds. every country with wind get this.

  • That was a "E ticket" experience! I love flying.

  • This pilot did what you have to do. try to land (if crosswind is within aircraft limit) and if you cant, make a go arround and fly to your alternate. Where do you see the bad done here?? the PF got a A+

  • Uhmmm.....you don't fly in Europe anymore because of the crosswinds and a smart pilot who aborted a risky landing?? Okay....

  • You must be american !!! Do you think things are any better where you come from? Jesus, what an ignorant remark !!!

  • has nothing to do with Europe, it's just bad winds/crosswinds. It's obvious how to plane was reacting. it does that anywhere on earth at times, man.

  • Not landing-go around or missed approach

  • Exactly, this was NOT a landing. The aircraft powered up and went around or perhaps went to another airport with a more suitable runway heading.

  • @mindsmirror it was landing

  • @sdgsdgsdgsd3 It INTENDED to land, yes. But this was not a video of a landing. This is a video of a missed approach.

  • @mindsmirror, wow, your videos suck!

  • @NintendoFan5464 Thanks dude! :)

  • why wouldnt you fly in europe anymore? Because the pilots there know when to cut their losses and go around?

  • ouch, crazy!
