I totally agree with you. You've helped cleared my doubts. : ) I was thinking that Niall refers to him as "Vampire" a lot and I don't remember Niall ever addressing Bill, but I think I recall a few times he calls him "Northman". I believe in book 9.

Skimming the book to get to an Sookie/Eric part is a bad habit of mine that I'm trying to break. When the 10th book comes out I am gonna try to force myself to read the whole thing straight through without skipping pages. Don't know if I'll succeed, especially since they're an item now. ;-p
Yeah. When I skip ahead I go right back to where I was even if I spoiled the end for myself. I have to read every word. I know! I will just be reading sometimes and I'll see his name out of the corner of my eye on the next page or something. Hehe.

He has always fascinated me too. That's why I started watching the show. The first episode I saw was the fourth where he's introduced. I love his humor and all around personality. I don't like when people call him the evil vampire, because I look deeper.

Well, this is my first. I have always thought that Brad Pitt was a good looking man and has become a really good actor, but I have never had a celebrity crush before. She is not big into watching TV. TV time has to accommodate her children's time and quality. That leaves out anything PG13 and over. She's seen him on my desktop and says she can see the resemblence to her daddy. But she is surprised that I am so enamored by him. Actually, when I was catching up with season 1 on On Demand I was watching it like everyday and my mom would come in and see a scene or two. She didn't like it very much at first. But most of the scenes she walked in on were sex scenes. I loved the show immediately and so much that I felt the urge to share my love with her so I could have a watching buddy. I made her watch the first few episodes and now she watches it regularly. I also told her a few things that happen in the book.
I was so excited when I heard he was auditioning for the Thor role, but then he didn't get it. Chris Hemsworth got it. I might see it, because Alexander's father is in it as well as Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Hopkins. They are great actors. Alex would've been perfect for that role though and he most likely would've completed the movie perfectly.
I agree, but I think they made a serious mistake NOT casting him! It might have taken him about 6 months, but with his body type and build without much working out... he would have beefed up plenty good! LOL Like he could be any hotter than he already is!!!
Well, Christian Bale lost like 65 pounds to play the guy in The Machinist and had to gain 100 pounds in 6 weeks for the role of Batman. So, it's not impossible and I know he could do it no problem.
I plan on doing much more than that. I have a favorite pic of him and I'm gonna look around to see if there's a poster of it so I can have it on my wall and stare at all the time! =D

You can get those posters made up with a pic... I think they do it at all the camera sales places... or film developing ones. My daughter got one for my granddaughter and her little friends together. They loved it.

Yeah, I have reddish-brown hair but I have always preferred fairer (read blond or close to) men... with a few exceptions... My hubby is one of those few exceptions... but he's ex-army. And damn, when he first got out he was very well-built... lol We've been together for about 11 years? yeah, that's about right... We got together just before I turned 18, so 11 years is right... lol... We've been married for 2 years; 3 in May... lol... But AS is definitely the type I preferred b4 I met my hubby..

as i read the books i went from being a Bill fan to an Eric fan. I swear if True Blood doesn't get better about being true to the books i'll have to stop watching.
I know what you mean about the eric thing. But I find that I even like bill a lot better in the books. He's not so... insecure. He doesn't freak out every time sookie interacts with someone else like he does in the show. But I also find that liking the books hasn't stopped me liking the show. It usually does when they adapt a book. But the show is more about a group and the books are just about sookie. Plus in the show, lafayette's still alive. And he's by far the best character in the show.
it would be hard to do a show that followed one person around all the time. still they made this season into an sex ramp. i thought i was turning on soft core porn sometimes.
i do like the bill in the books better then the bill on the show. but i still think eric is cooler. i like that in the books you slowly go from hating him to liking him. at lest it was that way for me. so they better get better at writing the parts for bill and eric!
Yeah, the sex scenes in both the show and books are a bit overused. But as long as some of them include Anna Paquin I can't see myself getting too upset over it. It's just inconvenient at times.
I would say Bill isn't as possessive in the books, but he is a hell of a lot more persistent. He is like a dog. Watching the show is what brought me to find out about the books so I have tons of thanks. I agree about the different perspectives. There are some things in the book that I'm like, 'Damn! I want to follow that person around!' lol. Lafayette is awesome!! I was worried about the 1st season finale, because I thought he was dead.
I found that I became more of an Eric fan when I read the books, but I'm glad that the show differs from the book as much as it does, it makes it almost like a new story altogether.
I found that I became more of an anti-Bill fan when I read the books. lol. I immediately loved Eric in the books. I like how him and Sookie are friends before they become lovers. It's fun to see them joking with each other.
I don't know why people are complaining about the show not staying true to the books. That's what happens when you adapt a book series into a show. No doubt there will be changes, some major, some not. I think it's fun, because you get to see what they're gonna keep and what they're gonna come up with on their own. : ]

Ok I'm all on team Eric! But after reading the 9th book, I'm wondering if Harris is going to have Sookie and Bill get back together. Her greatgpa says the vampire really loves you and I was confused as to which (Eric or Bill) that meant. After thinking about it, it is Bill who is with her greatgpa to rescue her from the fairies torturing her. I also wondered about Sookie and Bill interlocking fingers after the battle. I see Bill taking Alpha status sometime soon due to Suckie. I think Eric will be a close watched ally. Sam will be the thorn and the bridge. An outsider due to his secret revealed. Sookie`s brother will discover an inherited power and become a reluctant but responsible Dad.

There is nothing from the series (so far) that indicate a Sookie & Eric pairing (at least I can't see it). Same Bill in TV as book. You will be amazed at Bill's betrayal, but not really surprised. After getting to know the characters in the book, Eric is very sympathetic with Sookie and makes Bill be truthful with her even though Eric knows it will hurt her. In the book, Eric is hot hot hot! I see the Sookie and Eric pairing in season 3 or 4

I can't imagine what would take place to switch that around. xD
No. Sookie and Eric have their moments in book 2. Book 4 has the war with the witches and a whole different storyline involving Eric. Read the books, you will love them! I read the entire 9 book series in 7 days. They are a easy, fast read. You will then understand why all of us are on team Eric. Bill's not bad, he's just made some decisions that really hurt Sookie.
I know by book 4, almost all of the book fans are Eric & Sookie shippers, as by then, Bill went off the 'deep end' of something. =(( I really hope that Bill's image remain as it is. -_-" I think whatever Bill does that concerns Sookie, his intentions are positive towards her, but I guess things don't turn out the way he wants them. I just got done with book one,i didnt know the series was based off the book till i read it and looked up some true blood video's.I actually like Eric better in the book than bill,so found it funny when i saw the spoilors for the books and found out what happened.The characters in the book seem a lot hotter than the actors,not that the men aren't handsome :]
I didn't know there were books until after the 4th episode of the first season. I found it to my advantage though, because then I could just imagine all those actors. Especially Alexander Skarsgard. =D

HBO made it seem like Sookie and Bill are the true "mortal and vampire" couple.. In the books...It's really Sookie and Eric. They're the real lovers in the story.. They made Eric look like an extra in the series..
In order for this to work like the book, Bill has to die or become more evil. I don`t see that happening just yet. I did not read the books. Perhaps Bill`s obsession takes him down that road by circumstance? I see him being Alpha before this happens.
I read all the books and Eric is more in the books than possibly in the show. I hope Alan keeps close enough so we can see more eric and Sookie but who knows!? The two SHOULD be more to each other.
It just hasn`t gotten there yet. In tv, you look for longevity. What I`ve learned from the readers is, Bill won`t last. This is sad for the non readers.

Eric doesn't die but, he cheats on Sookie with his maker. Eric jumps on the chance to be sookies next man..although he needs to get in line behind quite a few other paranormal men. Eric is just as suprised as Sookie over their feelings for each other...but in the books Bill doesnt die but, silently broods for sookie and realizes she is the Love of his life...

Yeah. When I skip ahead I go right back to where I was even if I spoiled the end for myself. I have to read every word. I know! I will just be reading sometimes and I'll see his name out of the corner of my eye on the next page or something. Hehe.

I sometimes do that, especially when I'm not in the mood to read so much. I agree that she gives him a good amount of page time. I'm glad it's increasing as the series moves along!
He has always fascinated me too. That's why I started watching the show. The first episode I saw was the fourth where he's introduced. I love his humor and all around personality. I don't like when people call him the evil vampire, because I look deeper.
Alex is hot even as a transvestite!

I'm jealous! I still don't own the seasons yet, but I'm hoping my mom will buy them for me! I finally bought the first book and the fourth book since it's my favorite!!

People... it's there what?... 100 sexiest men issue! Just gave him a "leetle bitty" picture down in the bottom of the page. It was that SOOO hot one in the episode where Sam comes to Fangtasia with the children to enlist his help... he was lying prone on a padded bench... all 6'4"s of him in that grey suit... They didn't even give him the full shot in the mag... AND, yeah... give him a mag! A monthy or more mag would be just fine... what the hell's the matter with these magazine people!?!

You're right. THEY DON"T! He should have gotten the Thor role! Women all over the world would be rushing the theaters to see THAT! He is tall, a bit lanky... but I bet he would beef up heavy given about 6 months... WithOut heavy workouts he looked dam' good to me in GenK. I agree.. once again we are of the same mind! LOL Alex auditioned for the Thor role (they must be making a movie), and he didn't get it. He was gorgeous in the GenK.. when he ran like an airplane in that field... I mean... my eyes were big as saucers the first time I saw that! .. i wanted to lick his chest right down his belly... sheesh... embarrassing to admit that!... NAH.. not really! I suspect there are plenty of other women who have thought the same thing!

I didn't even become infatuated with him until I started reading his interviews and such and saw what an awesome and sweet guy he is. Nothing sexier than an exquisite guy with a great personality! He's not like all those other cocky celebrities out there that's for sure.

I was babysitting at the time and the kids were asleep so I put it on to see what it was like and it was funny as hell, but when Alex came on I was like, "Okay. I'm convinced. This is staying on!" I usually have a few celebrity crushes at a time. When I was younger it was Shane West and Kiefer Sutherland. Then, it was John Krasinski for a few years. Now that Alexander Skarsgard has come along he has all my attention! My mom's too! lol. I got her hooked on the show, so we watch every episode together and gush over his gorgeousness. She is not big into watching TV. TV time has to accommodate her children's time and quality. That leaves out anything PG13 and over. She's seen him on my desktop and says she can see the resemblence to her daddy. But she is surprised that I am so enamored by him. I doubt I would be so enamored if my husband were alive still, though I am sure I would still be drawn to him... oh, hell, I would be hooked! LOL Probably not so obsessive.. but then I have a lot of time on my hands now! hahahaha

Actually, when I was catching up with season 1 on On Demand I was watching it like everyday and my mom would come in and see a scene or two. She didn't like it very much at first. But most of the scenes she walked in on were sex scenes. I loved the show immediately and so much that I felt the urge to share my love with her so I could have a watching buddy. I made her watch the first few episodes and now she watches it regularly. I also told her a few things that happen in the book.

I was so excited when I heard he was auditioning for the Thor role, but then he didn't get it. Chris Hemsworth got it. I might see it, because Alexander's father is in it as well as Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Hopkins. They are great actors. Alex would've been perfect for that role though and he most likely would've completed the movie perfectly.

Well, Christian Bale lost like 65 pounds to play the guy in The Machinist and had to gain 100 pounds in 6 weeks for the role of Batman. So, it's not impossible and I know he could do it no problem.

You can get those posters made up with a pic... I think they do it at all the camera sales places... or film developing ones. My daughter got one for my granddaughter and her little friends together. They loved it.

You know, I think we kinda have a type... my hair is black/brown eyes, but I am sooo drawn to men who are fair like Alex/my husband. The GenK look of him is so like my husband when we were both young and first married. He was a sailor attached to Marines/VietNam! And he died way too young. Yeah, I have reddish-brown hair but I have always preferred fairer (read blond or close to) men... with a few exceptions... My hubby is one of those few exceptions... but he's ex-army. And damn, when he first got out he was very well-built... lol We've been together for about 11 years? yeah, that's about right... We got together just before I turned 18, so 11 years is right... lol... We've been married for 2 years; 3 in May... lol... But AS is definitely the type I preferred b4 I met my hubby..

I know what you mean about the eric thing. But I find that I even like bill a lot better in the books. He's not so... insecure. He doesn't freak out every time sookie interacts with someone else like he does in the show. But I also find that liking the books hasn't stopped me liking the show. It usually does when they adapt a book. But the show is more about a group and the books are just about sookie. Plus in the show, lafayette's still alive. And he's by far the best character in the show.

i do like the bill in the books better then the bill on the show. but i still think eric is cooler. i like that in the books you slowly go from hating him to liking him. at lest it was that way for me. so they better get better at writing the parts for bill and eric!

I would say Bill isn't as possessive in the books, but he is a hell of a lot more persistent. He is like a dog. Watching the show is what brought me to find out about the books so I have tons of thanks. I agree about the different perspectives. There are some things in the book that I'm like, 'Damn! I want to follow that person around!' lol. Lafayette is awesome!! I was worried about the 1st season finale, because I thought he was dead.

Ok I'm all on team Eric! But after reading the 9th book, I'm wondering if Harris is going to have Sookie and Bill get back together. Her greatgpa says the vampire really loves you and I was confused as to which (Eric or Bill) that meant. After thinking about it, it is Bill who is with her greatgpa to rescue her from the fairies torturing her. I also wondered about Sookie and Bill interlocking fingers after the battle. I was thinking her and Bill holding hands after the battle was more of a love/friend type of feeling. She herself said she was thinking of their times together and knew she loved him for a moment again. So, I think she'll be able to become friends with him. I don't ever remember Niall referring to Bill at all. But Niall doesn't seem to like Eric too much anyway.

I haven't read the series, yet, but based on what I've been reading from fans' comments, seems like Bill 7 Sookie paired up in the 1st few books of the series, but by book 4, Sookie is paired up with Eric during the Dallas trip through the latest book. =X I like the TV pairing of Bill & Sookie, though. xD Hope they will pair Eric with Pam. xD That'll make a pretty hilarious couple.

yes, Eric is happily mated to sookie in this last book....(BOOK9). so it may be awhile before they get to this on the series.I think Sookie finds out in the end of book that Bill loves her enough to give his life for her but, that still doesnt stop the powerful bond/attraction/love she has with Eric...and as he said on the last pages "Sookie is mine, all mine, and no one will take her from me"......sigh lucky girl

Oh no, I really like the Bill & Sookie pairing. The drama doesn't make me think about Eric being with Sookie at all. xD Hopefully, Alan Ball keeps it that way. =/ I wonder if the drama will continue with the book for THAT long (will be 10 books?). It was BASED on the book series, but perhaps it won't copy EVERYTHING? =/

Silly me, thinking '10' is the final #. Very random. xD I've read in an article that the author has said the series is NOT yet done, and there are lots of comin'. =? So, book 10 doesn't seem to be the last. ^__^

Well, I haven't read the book, so I cannot say anything to that. ^_^ HOWEVER, based on the HBO SERIES 'True Blood', I like the Sookie & Bill pairing. There is nothing from the series (so far) that indicate a Sookie & Eric pairing (at least I can't see it). The director (I think) went the other route, and perhaps, will not pair Sookie & Eric up, like the book does? =/ I don't know. Plus, I like Bill in the HBO series. xD Not sure if it's the same Bill from the book. ^_^"

Same Bill in TV as book. You will be amazed at Bill's betrayal, but not really surprised. After getting to know the characters in the book, Eric is very sympathetic with Sookie and makes Bill be truthful with her even though Eric knows it will hurt her. In the book, Eric is hot hot hot! I see the Sookie and Eric pairing in season 3 or 4

Oh no, I don't want to see Bill turn bad! =(( But from what I've read from the fans who've read, it seems to me they're mixing things from book 4 in with season 2 (Texas trip where Sookie & Eric started bonding, supposedly)? =/ Right now in the TV series, it seems that Eric is the devilish one, and Bill is the 'nicer' of the two. I can't imagine what would take place to switch that around. xD

No. Sookie and Eric have their moments in book 2. Book 4 has the war with the witches and a whole different storyline involving Eric. Read the books, you will love them! I read the entire 9 book series in 7 days. They are a easy, fast read. You will then understand why all of us are on team Eric. Bill's not bad, he's just made some decisions that really hurt Sookie.

I know by book 4, almost all of the book fans are Eric & Sookie shippers, as by then, Bill went off the 'deep end' of something. =(( I really hope that Bill's image remain as it is. -_-" I think whatever Bill does that concerns Sookie, his intentions are positive towards her, but I guess things don't turn out the way he wants them. Thanks for the heads up, though. :o(

I just got done with book one,i didnt know the series was based off the book till i read it and looked up some true blood video's.I actually like Eric better in the book than bill,so found it funny when i saw the spoilors for the books and found out what happened.The characters in the book seem a lot hotter than the actors,not that the men aren't handsome :]

I didn't know there were books until after the 4th episode of the first season. I found it to my advantage though, because then I could just imagine all those actors. Especially Alexander Skarsgard. =D

HBO made it seem like Sookie and Bill are the true "mortal and vampire" couple.. In the books...It's really Sookie and Eric. They're the real lovers in the story.. They made Eric look like an extra in the series..

In order for this to work like the book, Bill has to die or become more evil. I don`t see that happening just yet. I did not read the books. Perhaps Bill`s obsession takes him down that road by circumstance? I see him being Alpha before this happens.

I read all the books and Eric is more in the books than possibly in the show. I hope Alan keeps close enough so we can see more eric and Sookie but who knows!? The two SHOULD be more to each other.

It just hasn`t gotten there yet. In tv, you look for longevity. What I`ve learned from the readers is, Bill won`t last. This is sad for the non readers.

Hey-you never know though-they are dating in real life so maybe Alan will keep Bill around Sookie more than in the books.Charlaine said in one of her interviews that she is partial to Bill-so we all will have to wait and see!(I am PARTIAL to AS/Eric)

Eric doesn't die but, he cheats on Sookie with his maker. Eric jumps on the chance to be sookies next man..although he needs to get in line behind quite a few other paranormal men. Eric is just as suprised as Sookie over their feelings for each other...but in the books Bill doesnt die but, silently broods for sookie and realizes she is the Love of his life...
