  • that's hell that american made with US steel cars and trucks get scrapped, and scrap is sent overseas to make more imports.

  • cash for clunkers.. we shoulda traded in congress

  • It's good thing that we didn't have this cash for clunkers program in the 50s and 60s. What a moronic program, no thought to the aftermarket effects it will have on future rebuilds and the aftermarket original parts inventory. Destroying these cars was inexcusable and myopic. My 10 year old could have designed a better program then the idiots in the White House. Lets hope they don't come up with any other genius ideas for saving the ecology.

  • They crushed a 2009 chevy truck because it had a bad transmission. Lol

  • @31jeffburton a $40,000 truck with a $4000 problem? lier

  • are you not able to strip the doors hod etc. of it before crushing it

  • @canadiancatgreen You couldn't take the engine or trans, rest is fair game for 90 days. Then whatever is left has to be crushed.

  • It was Bleeding in the end

  • See...this is why Americans are retards. they trade in their old car, ALL of them have to be in decent, running shape and insured(in other words, you couldn't buy some broken down jalopy and trade it in), AND buy a brand new vehicle for a discount of 3 grand(basically taking off of some dealer markup, or could've gotten more off with a sale). All they had to do is destroy the old car. that sounded too good to be true?

  • @blackwar12 that's because it was. What Americans essentially did was thin out the used car market, made scrap dealers and auto parts stores charge a premium for used car parts to the people who can't afford a new car, and basically sent scrap prices plummeting. So congratulations! All the Mr. right nows for car buying just got the deals they could have gotten if they were patient and negotiated, and whatever they got for their old car could have been pure profit. *thumbsup*

  • hope the body and casket of that dead korean leader is in there to be flat in the flat hearse.

  • You american people are SOOO STUPID you keep all those hyundai's and all those japanese korean and european cars and i mean the new ones and you throw away these masterpieces SHAME ON YOU

  • Disgusting, sacred vehicle just crushed. People have no respect.

  • I have an 1980 Deville. The RWD bodied were the same from 80-89. It could have been parts a couple thousand in parts for those of us keeping its sisters on the road before. But they had to hurry to crush it . A shame on so many levels.

  • Best thing that could have happened to that old smog dog that nobody wanted. Face it, at least it's being recycled instead of ending up having a bunch of sock-puppets blowing the engine and leaving it or driving it into pond causing even more environmental degradation. And btw nobody forced me to sell my pos S-10 commuter to the Cash for Clunkers Program, but I did and used the money as the down payment on my new Tacoma! Not ALL cars are collectable, regardless what you might think...

  • @Mrphatbastard1 Absolutely right! There is little or no market for most of these cars, especially an old hearse. Cash for clunkers gave people more money for the old cars than most would have they would get on a private sale or trade. I should have done this with my 98 DeVille, instead it sat 3 years and went to a scrap yard for a few dollars.

If these cars are so collectable, why aren't the collectors actively scooping them up.

  • @SuperOffgrid Thank you, finally someone else who can distinguish the difference between logic and hype.

  • The Cash For Clunkers was an option...a scam...to get you to buy a new car. You take your car to the dealership, and they give you money for it towards the purchase of a new car. A new car made of plastic, that will be back in the same scrapyard in 5 years because the owner will be tired of it.

The person that made this video, was talking about how the SCRAPYARD would be fined if they did not crush the car. He was not talking about the general public.

  • Yeah, the only reason this was here for that program, was some moron had to use it as a trade in on a new foreign car. It DID NOT need to be here, and be subject to this. He could have parted it out as a private seller instead of trading it in. Then, it wouldn't have been a problem.

  • ironic ha

  • What? why is it covered in red paint randomly

  • So. Do yu have a hearse for dead hearses?

Cash for clunkers suck... At least cars no older than 30 years or something can be turned in....

  • It got scrapped because it was a worn out uneconomical wreck.probably dangerous, and wouldnt have had much dignity for the people it conveyed anymore.Like all old cars.

Wake up and grow up,you idiots.

    It was a heap...end of.

  • Fuckin Sad! I weeped

  • god damn government.. this could have been a sick lowered hot rod.

  • RIP caddy...

  • I've seen a Cadillac Hearse like this one before. Instead of crushing it, they just sent it to the shredder one way.

  • Where's my old car? No way. I'm not falling for this. Let's go Russ!

  • This sucks if it was fixed up it could b worth maybe 50k

  • The only good thing that the 'cash for clunkers' program did was take many cars with 'Obama08' bumper stickers off the road. Other than that, the cars distroyed could have gone to good use.

  • Damn!! That was a clean hearse too. Someone could have restored that. :(

  • What's the sold called american freedom worth? Absolutely nothing when you force people to do insane things. Dictatorship !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • l would of brought that lve owned 2 of them an loved them 1 was custonized beyon the mind an the other was restored what a waste

  • WTF: that is an UNCONSTITUTIONAL illegal NWO mandate -- it holds not enforceability, if challenged in the Courts. That you would CRUSH such a labor intensive masterpiece is utterly insane .... part of an engineered ERASURE of humanity as per the UN's Agenda 21 and REX 84. Motherf_ckers! You guys need to go to your local Law School and form a coalition against this A 'bomination national-pride-suicidal mayhem. WAKE-UP!

  • Working in this fied i understand why, i truly do, bet everytime i see this it breaks my heart :-(... I have witnessed this several times. One good thing i can say... Free hard to find parts for my own hearses :-)

  • good i hate cadillacs

  • Quite sad, bet that hearse has took lots of people to there resting place..now its time for the hearse to have an rest..

  • I think my heart just broke :(.. Look at that, it even bled at the end... LOL

  • What's with the red paint?

  • The death of a hearse! Seems a little appropriate, but it's a total waste! Then again that's Cash for Clunkers for you, kill your old cars so we can give you plastic hippie pleasing, computers wrapped in plastic and put on wheels. While your old loyal, tough and dependable car gets turned into steel rebar, seeing as how all cars made today are plastic!

  • @Demonizer68 Wrong, that 1 huge hearse gets crushed here in USA by our Backstabbing government to be sold to Asians and they send that poor car back as 3 Star-Trek WRECK too small Smart car go carts not worth effort to customize! Becuase those Smart car POS rejects are too damn small to not have room to work with, crush them little cars and keep that Detroit iron HUGE CAR 9 passenger heritage in USA where it belongs!

  • hey, kuntryboyblazin85, I don't think you got it. See, our government mandated that the hearse was crushed through the cash for clunkers program. If we didn't crush the hearse, we would have been charged $10,000. Yes, it would have made a great rat hearse, but President Obama doesn't live in the real world.

  • @allamericanclassics It was the house of Representatives that passed this program, not the president. Also, assuming by your statement you're a republican in which you would most likely not be happy to know that the majority of the house which passed this program was also republican. So if there is someone to blame, blame the house, which a majority was republican*

  • @allamericanclassics Under cash for clunkers yards have 90 days to strip parts [anything 'cept engine & trans] before they have to crush.

  • yall are fucking idiots that damn thing would made a good rat hearse...

  • I HATE HEARSES!

  • Well I guess that hearse will need a hearse to carry it to get burried! LOL

  • what a sad world we live in! :(

  • We had the same madness here in England, brought about by the shitheads in government.

  • The hearses must not be put in the crush, they are much too beautiful and valuable just to be destroyed.

I saved my hearse and go completely renovate it.

  • The government - figures.

  • It's such a shame that these beautiful cars are not appreciated like they should be.

  • cash for cluckers did not do us any good it did more harm than good only a few peole were able to cash in on it a lot of good cars got scrapped the salvage yards got hurt it was a bad deal and the gas prices are a joke and the fedural goverment wont get off it's fucken ass and change it

  • its all thanks to bush and now obama im proud to own and drive a car with 549,000 miles on it and its going to stay on the road long as i can keep it there

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

  • Screw the idiot that sent that car to it's death. Cash for clunkers helped out to keep jobs, but the stipulation to junk the cars was absurd. Only the foreign ones should have been crushed.

  • O-Crappa at work! His idiotic "cash 4 clunkers" program that destroyed THOUSANDS of good cars and that cost more to run than it made. I mourn the loss of another hearse due to idiotic and moronic government leaders.

  • That car was bleeding

  • Those yards are kinda creepy.. It's usually very quiet unless equipment is running, but you stand before a car that you see after being stripped and beat up sitting in nature. You know the sound and drive of the car yet you hear wind blowing thru the carcus and birds, crickets in the background. The car just sits there as a reminder of how life passes everything by and nature still keeps the same pace. I miss my '87 Brougham D'elegance. .

  • fuck you cash for clunkers. I been wanting one of those too, put stacks on it coming out the hood, and drive it and race it in a field. My absolute dream!!

  • Now the car Rest In Peace.

  • this reminds me of terminator 3 xD

  • And your crusher was not crushing salvageable vehicles until the Federal government rolled along. Yeah, I buy that...NOT!

  • wow wat a classic thats why some people hate the usa

  • It's a hearse people, who would roll in something that spent its life carrying dead bodies.

  • @themustangman1000 shut up that car is a classic

  • @themustangman1000 I would love to have a Cadillac Hearse! The car is a dream.

  • @themustangman1000 I would have proudly driven that car. In fact i've been looking for the right hearse for years. Granted, this one was a little newer than I would prefer but it still would have been a hell of a ride. You roll down the street in a dead sled and all eyes are on you. Wouldn't matter if a Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Lincoln, Corvette, Mustang and 20 of those piece of crap 'tuner' cars were drag racing in the other lane, nobody would be looking at them.

  • i woulda took the good cars that could be used for derbys

  • aww mna what a classic

  • red paint underneath freaky?

  • At least it looked somewhat stripped down...

  • cash for clunkers is a scam, stolen money, hell with them all cash for clunkers, i lkike to shoot them dealership that does that shit!

  • what a freekin waste ~ u idiots ~

  • @apatheticempathy --- didn't you read the description under the video --- we didn't want to crush it. We would have gladly sold it or parted it out; however, under the Cash For Clunkers Program, our US Federal Government said by law we had to crush it or face fines of up to $15,000 per vehicle that wasn't crushed.

  • @allamericanclassics at least it look like it was parted out, to some extent, wheels hubcaps, lights...

  • @allamericanclassics We once had to crush a Bentley flying spur that was only 1 year old... Nothing wrong with it either... I wanted to cry!

  • @allamericanclassics so you had 2 Scrap it or you would have to pay a $15,000 fine?? Please tell me an the rest of my Youtubeing friends why....
