I think that's why, in all the cast farewell interviews, they were all saying that the show was ending on their terms. I doubt the writers or actors saw the ending as ambiguous as the fans have seemed to read it.

didn't like the ending, 5 years of character development of sarah's character from a spy that didn't trust anyone and had to do everything herself and always on the move to the total opposite. All that done in 2 episodes. Funny thing is the show was always on the brink of being cancelled so the end of every season they made it seem like it was the end, like at the end of season 4 if they just ended it with the wedding and not working getting the intersect then that would of been good

For everyone worrying about whether Sarah gets her memories back, it doesn't matter. That's the beauty of this ending. If she gets her memories, great. If she doesn't then these two get to fall in love all over again.
I've been thinking, u all know when Chuck was gonna save everyone by uploading the intercept in his own brain, why couldn't he just upload it into Sarah's brain and then let her defuse the bomb!? well that would work right?
@Wyuzful No cause she can't use the intersect directly again. They wanted the glasses to bring them back to Ellie so she could fix Sarahs memories but since Chuck is the only one that the glasses don't effect he was the one that needed to put them on and save everyone in the concert hall.
@Scuzzz But, it wasn't even that Chuck was the only one it didn't affect. The copy of the intersect that Morgan and Sarah got was tampered with and that was why it erased their memories. The copy of the intersect Chuck uploaded at the end was clean, so it wouldn't have made a difference. But yeah, it wasn't the intersect that would fix Sarah, just the technology, which would allow them to upload Sarah's memories back into her head.
At first I was ambivalent about this ending, but the more I've watched it (*and* the farewell interviews with cast members), the more convinced I am that she does, or already has started to get her memory back... Because she's the one who asks him to kiss her -- after Chuck shares Morgan's crazy idea. So if she doesn't remember yet, we know she wants to. And that's pretty much the same thing.
Fans of Chuck. You must realize something. There won't be a sixth season nor a follow up episode. Why? Because they want you to make your own conclusion. Maybe you want Chuck and Sarah to become spies again or maybe you want them to settle down and have a family. Regardless, that is what this specific ending is for. The ambiguity serves as a template for the fan to draw their own conclusions, whether happy or suspenseful.

the last time i saw this scene was weeks ago when the episode aired. watching it now and crying all over again. thumbs up for one of the best series television will ever have to offer. so happy they got to end it the way it did. charah forever.

i really feel they should have at least given some sort of closure by making sarah say " i love you" to chuck after the kiss , that would have showed that the love is still there and that sarah feels it.but despite of this i still love the show and i hope they will make a movie some day.
This is why I don't watch TV shows. They get you interested in them, then they leave you hanging and have tear-jerkers, and there isn't always a solution to the problems.
I was so certain that at the end Chuck would show to Sarah the photo of the house of their dreams, with the sketch of them and their baby on it, and she would started remembering...
I'd have been so much happier about that final kiss and meaning it was trying to convey if Sarah's hands hadn't stayed firmly planted in her lap the whole time.
It's like I forget about Chuck and think "Oh well its over, good show but now time to move on." But then I feel like listening to Rivers and Roads by The Head and the Heart then I see this video and get all emotional and never want it to end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I had to hold my tears in this scene, although I didn't agree with this final, Sarah asked for a Chuck's kiss but she still didn't remember anything, perhaps after the kiss, but the writers wanted leave to the fans imagination, 5 years of relationship of Chuck and Sarah ends up this way it's to sad.
And at 2:50, Yvone said that she really was in tears, not Sarah, this make this scene even sadder :/

What i believe, is that Sarah is progressively finding back her memories as chuck tells her their whole love story; they come back, one after the other...The kiss is the conclusion of this myriade of emotions, bringing back the old Sarah; definitely. The song ending as the light fades shows, that Chuck finally reached Sarah, through all the "rivers and roads" of her lost memories.
More like Shaw, Quinn, Decker, Intersect-controlled Hartley and I don't know... the last time i saw this scene was weeks ago when the episode aired. watching it now and crying all over again. thumbs up for one of the best series television will ever have to offer. so happy they got to end it the way it did. charah forever.

they shouldn't have gone with this ending , now we don't even know what will happen to their relationship. will she remember everything they've been through ?? will they start over ??
i really feel they should have at least given some sort of closure by making sarah say " i love you" to chuck after the kiss , that would have showed that the love is still there and that sarah feels it.but despite of this i still love the show and i hope they will make a movie some day.

I'd have been so much happier about that final kiss and meaning it was trying to convey if Sarah's hands hadn't stayed firmly planted in her lap the whole time.

It's like I forget about Chuck and think "Oh well its over, good show but now time to move on." But then I feel like listening to Rivers and Roads by The Head and the Heart then I see this video and get all emotional and never want it to end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ilovetangled2010 What is Chuck exactly? I've only seen some clip where he's being forced to hack one cent out of an account, and he has to do it faster than the bad guy's best hacker (who happens to be Freddie Wong), and hacks the lights out and runs instead.

It's not the fact of how they ended it, which is why i believe most people are mad, it's because we now have nothing to look forward to seeing. Always waiting for more to happen and what's next to come. Now that it's finally over, nothing can ever achieve what Chuck has done to get their fans to connect in a way no other show has. Man, I had to hold my tears in this scene, although I didn't agree with this final, Sarah asked for a Chuck's kiss but she still didn't remember anything, perhaps after the kiss, but the writers wanted leave to the fans imagination, 5 years of relationship of Chuck and Sarah ends up this way it's to sad.
And at 2:50, Yvone said that she really was in tears, not Sarah, this make this scene even sadder :/

All Chuck fans sign the petition and when we reach 1 million,we will show this to NBC and we hope that we can get a movie or a season 6 of CHUCK! Some people say that it won't be a season 6 or a movie but I belive that we can save Chuck if we all help signing the petition. Chuck is the best show that has ever been made and I will always keep fighting for it and ill hope that you all Chuck fans can help me with it.

What i believe, is that Sarah is progressively finding back her memories as chuck tells her their whole love story; they come back, one after the other...The kiss is the conclusion of this myriade of emotions, bringing back the old Sarah; definitely. The song ending as the light fades shows, that Chuck finally reached Sarah, through all the "rivers and roads" of her lost memories.
