  • wheres 1080 p bro

  • this would be a great GPU benchmarking tool

    reminds me of furmark

  • possible to fly through at a faster rate?

If having FPS issues maybe use a gpu with a large memory bandwidth maybe GTX 580 or GTX 285 in SLI

would be interesting to see a more comprehensive tour

  • That was absolutely incredible! But i have no idea what a Mandelbulb is. Can someone explain this to me?

  • @BiggestBigTuna It's a sex toy from the next dimension

  • exfoliation station!

  • faszinierend ...

  • Have you tried 3d glasses with it?

  • Can I use this as background for some talk video?

  • I can't even render the video!

  • @terrapin52 no, there is no 'size' in fractals, only ratios,

  • The universe is a fractal, surely? Look at subatomic structures, for instance, and broccoli! Ferns, pollen grains, eye retinas, and snowflakes, all suggest that the universe, on the largest scales, must be fractal in structure, which means that some where there is a copy of earth, maybe the cosmos itself is a fractal, not the universe, and there are thousands of universes on different scales, all the same in ratios of distance, but not in time or continua? Food for thought, eh?

  • Omg universe r frictal

  • Something this large could not exist in reality. Gravity would crush it.

  • @terrapin52 Except when there is no gravity ^3^

  • that's where avatar 2 happens!

  • Super sweet!

  • i think i just realized reality is a fractal.

  • amazing. could really use some music though.

  • Superb work, amazing. Dziękuję bardzo.

  • How can you make these videos with such fluidity of fps? The program can only save a very slow rendering frame by frame in the "animation maker"

  • Nom nom nom - Broccoli universe!

  • the universe is a fractal itself

  • How do you get it to look so good? Everytime I try to zoom in to mandelbulb it gets blurry and annoying...

  • Very nice!

    Nice Fractal in my Channel

    Created with Mandelbulb3D

  • Incredible exploration, great quality work.

  • that mut have taken a good 20mins to render

  • @jmm1233, 10 days :)

  • @xlace wow , must be all that occulsion

  • Trying to just comprehend this is a really good way to get a headache!

  • My face through the first 5/6 of the video: o‿o

My face through the last 1/6 of the video: O.O

  • this is my afterlife, i will go there in due time and spend the hours hunting mandels

  • WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED? WHERE IS MY WEED?

  • Looks like cake...but the cake is a lie

  • Is this in Kansas?

  • Fantastic!

  • man,,this is beautiful,,well done!

  • So when do i get to play video games inside this?

  • freaked me out at the beginning with the stark contrast of benevolent cheery lively pastel and menacing killer clown.

  • Beaty brings tear to my eye.

  • Awesome

  • If you haven't already, check out the paintings of Max Ernst. He would have loved this application.

  • Is it impossible to fly into any wall in this fractal ?

  • @3waybar you can't define a wall for fractal :3

  • for me still the best 3d mandelbrot around. love it!

  • 3D fractals are kinda scary looking.

  • what is this? serious question.

  • amazing video. kudos to the maker....its an awe to watch

  • Aaargg... Is there any sort of tutorials or guides to this software?

I was really blown away by the quality of this, but upon downloading it myself and having a read of the user manual, I am finding it incredibly hard/ nigh on impossible to even use the software, and animating is pretty much frustratingly impossible for me.

I'm not a computer / techno expert, just a casual user and this whole Mandelbulber program is really way over my head.

Any tuts or advice would be great! :)

  • looks like a recursive bee hive awesome job man

  • Thanks a lot for this great video and the mandelbulber. I have started developing of fractal rendering programs myself and thought maybe i can learn something from the sources. Is there any development documentation of the mandelbulber sources to get into them?

btw: what happens @ 1:21 - 1:27 in the upper right corner? Are those little rendering errors or parts of the formula? Someone knows?

  • @d0lphchrist, Few days ago I have created SVN repository for Mandelbulber. There will be full documentation of source code. code.google.com/p/mandelbulber/

In this corner there is visible overstepping problem (too high values of estimated distance to the fractal surface)

  • This one is my favorite at the moment.

  • Mandelbulb to dla mnie jedno z najbardziej fascynujacych odkryc matematycznych! Mam nadzieje, ze pewnego dnia jakis producent SciFi uzyje tych ornamentow w (miejmy nadzieje dobrym) filmie i zbijesz krocie!

  • Absolutely stunning. :-) I've been spending today starting to explore and render snapshots of the 3D fractal space of mandlebulbs & mandelboxes, so it's extra exciting to me to see how cool animated stuff looks! I haven't learned that part of the software, yet. But I'll be looking into it soon! :-D

  • I'm mesmerized! Can you please fill me in on the requirements to run this program? And is it available for Mac OS X ? Thank you!

  • Incredible! I lost my jaw while watching...

  • This makes the zooms into fraktals look really oldfasioned!!!

could dive into these landscapes for hours. it's THE new visual drug! THANKS

  • абасрачка

  • Fantastyczne.

  • These Mandelbulb's are incredible. I am curious, what software did you use to make this, is it available freely or commercially? I have a few so called 3D fractal animators, but they cannot do anything this detailed or spectacular.

  • @TheKageRyu, I wrote program by myself. This program is open-source and is available on SourceForge. Please find program called Mandelbulber.

  • @xlace Thanks for the info, I'll definately check it out.

  • @xlace I'm searching for Mandelbulber-Mac on SourceForge, not seeing it, can you post a link? Thanks. BTW, how about a stereorig for this great ap?

  • The awesomeness of this video can't be described in words.

  • Holy alien worlds, Batman. :) That is truly spectacular in design and beauty. Wow. Like the Tglad's Mandelbox fly-thru, I've never seen a Mandelbulb before. Extremely alien in layout.

  • I want to see this in stereoscopy

  • wow. very interesting.

  • That is one of the most amazing things I've seen, especially from a generated graphics standpoint. Can this stuff be rendered on the GPU? I think they are supposed to be good for this sort of thing, I'm no expert though.

  • @esgimasd, Thank you. I didn't used GPU but you are right that GPU is very good for rendering something like this.

  • What is the third dimension in these fractals? N x sqrt i ?

  • @Orenotter I used trigonometric expansion of standard 2D formula. Details you can find on FractalForums / 3D Fractal Generation

  • fuck, well i see something so real like this (real in the fact that the animation are very well maked), i feel two things: first, admiration because the beautiful work. after that good feeling, im feeling something bad. because the animations that the human will bring in a few years will be so real that reality will be delete. i mean, think about 2050, about 2100, about 2909, about 3689, 4890, 6879 years in the future. all will be synthetic... is scary, for me. good bye nature and all

  • hero!

  • I wish I was flying through this thing

  • lolOL!O! awesome

  • ok so now we just need this to render at this speed real-time, with depths as deep as the larger 2d sets, then we're really talking... shudder

  • Fantastic!

  • I just watched this again and it is really clean and colorful. I really think this sets a standard for what mandelbulb explorations should be like.

  • fckin CRAZY!!!!

I want to see this with 3d stereo glasses))

  • @drywerk Imagine this in 3D Imax :-p

  • Very very nice video. I'm trying to make a GPU tracer to make animation like that with mandelbulb, and i'm very impressed by the quality of your vidz. It gibe me inspiration.

  • This is the first mandelbulb I've seen that was interesting and aesthetically rendered. Usually they are as interesting as a tree stump.

  • @xlace, i would like to render my own mandelbulbs, or just create any kind of 3D fractal. I currently use 3d studio max professionally, which software can i create these in? is the geometry held all at once or is the detail level recalculated based on distance from the camera? any guidance/good website about the basics muchly appreciated.

  • It is wonderful! I would say 2 days of rendering it's not bad at all.

I think it is one of the best mandelbulb-video around.

    Breathtaking!

  • this is to incredible!

I could sit and watch this is a large cinema!

  • I second matholton's comment - the 2:52 onward section should be the beginning of a render. The tower like structures look like some kind of hive.

  • I'm planning to render new animation from this point

  • Wow, man this is sick ! Can't find words for that :)

  • too bad I don't have dx 10 for animation...gonna upgrade soon!

    Great job dude.

  • @silencefreedom It was rendered without using GPU :-) ... but it took 50 hours to render

  • you use single or built-in computers?

So you computer ran for more than 2 days non stop, wow

  • @silencefreedom I'm using single computer with Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 CPU.

  • wow

  • Wow. I would love to see a continuation of this from the last point. That scene looked like something from an alien world. Incredible.

  • Fantastic! More of this!

  • Very impressive! Why don't you add some music?

  • @bib993 I would like to recommend Billy Idol's, White Wedding.
