@stainedwithlove03 I have now become immune to minocycline after 18 month of use but I still got that 18months of clear skin which I think is pretty good! You can switch to other medications once you become immune. So I might try that.
I take 50mg 12h/12h of minocycline plus adapalene, but it does not work. I have moderate acne on my back and some on face, and after 20 days of treatment it does not show any result. For sure, it stimulated them. #fail
I have been taking minocycline 'akamin' for almost 12 months now and it has completely cleared up my skin! Took about 1 month to see the benefits start, but after that i never get pimples anymore unless i forget to take the tablet. If you have tried this and it hasnt worked for you, try accutane, as it is a bit stronger, but has some side effects. Trust me though, i have tried proactive, all the supermarket brands, dermalogica, EVERYTHING. Only oral medication actually works. Hope this helps! xo
@krgeraldene I am just wondering as I have a rather severe case of it. Does this get rid of acne scars? I have lots of those....and I am worried that even if it gets rid of the acne it won't get rid of the scar damage..
@jualkyn Hey! I would probably take it just so that when the acne clears you can see what are working with. What you think are scars might be just acne still. The best thing you can do is to take it and then let your skin heal. If they are relatively new scars use vitamin e oil or bio oil on them and massage the scar tissue and this is supposed to help.
i haven't had acne this bad before and duac sucks, differin takes fucking forever and makes my face peel. im taking this pill and i can't tell any difference honesty..fuck
Ive been on it for a few months now, and experienced a huge improvement in my acne, but it took about a month for me to see any real changes... I drink a fair bit though, so maybe that affected it?
Lol ive been taking this for 3 days now. No side effects and no real noticable change im my acne. If been doing some reading on the stuff and it has some sketchy side effects. Im kind of worried. So far so good though
just an fyi both my pharmacist and derm say its ok to drink alcohol if you're on mino...I wouldn't say its ok to take the pill WITH alcohol, but I've been on this for almost 2 months now and the occassional going out to drink with friends hasn't been a problem
me2! i used Differin 0.1 cream last year ....it worked pretty awesome! then this year...my acne came back and now i use Differin .3 gel....i have alot of confidence in Differin
differin is pretty good...I was on differin and it helped a little but I needed something stronger and now am on tazorac (and minocyclin). I've been uzing the tazorac for a few years now and it does help...it will dry out your skin though.
I have been prescribed 100mg of Minocycline for a month once daily for my type 2 acne, I have just come across AcneFree from University Medical which is similar to Proactiv.
Is it okay if I take both the minocycline antibiotic and the AcneFree which contains Benzoyl Peroxide?
I have taken 4 100mg capsules and last night started having should joint pain, chills and shivering and rapid heart rate. I also felt slightly nausia and tiredness. I am planning to stop taking this medication and report the symptoms to my doctor.
I use minocycline and I get migraines at night if I have been in the sun for twenty minutes during the day and if I do not drink enough water. There is no way I will be able to take this during the summer because I am way to active and outside, so it kind of feels worthless knowing that in a few months I am going to stop using the pill. However, I have noticed some improvements, but a lot of the side effects and recommendations really suck.
Ok I have 33 days on Minocycline.
I only take one pill a day.
Has it helped anyone?
Any side effects?
