  • Um hi can someone tell me why the colour didn't cover the lines?

  • @UchihaAkaboshi34 using layers. with the lineart ontop, set to multiply it allows anything under that layer to be seen.

  • @keishkeish Thanks a lot! ^-^

  • This is pretty neat. Whats the name of the first song that was played, I like it?

  • @ytfjordan Day by Day by Emyli

  • @keishkeish thanks, i like it.

  • 染めるのが大嫌いのに、確かに必要です。

    Thanks for vid

  • how did u get the color under the lines

  • @luffy0000 u make a layer below the lines and make the lineart layer be multiply (blending mode)

  • great work bro! diggin ur art and style!

  • Thank you very much for this. I've been wondering how to color over my hand drawn lineart for a very long time.

  • um thats not ur char its snoppys so u sould give creidit to her :O if not i will be dissapointed and if this is snoppy AM ONE OF UR FANS XD

  • ...LOL i am snoppy sweetheart XDXD its even on my profile.

  • :P am sorry i nver known XD ma bad

  • hey this vid actually helped me a lot, i'm usually the one to draw but i never liked colouring! simply because i'm so horrible at it though, heh. thanks!

  • VERY NICE JOB!! THe exact tutorial i was looking for! I love it! 5/5!

  • nice try

  • I don't seem to get what you did on 5:18 ._____.

but else it looks really good

  • Heh. I like the picture. Its cute. :D

I'm still confused on what to set the mode as though...

  • multiply

  • thanks :D

  • most welcome ^^

  • did you ever finsh it I would love to see the big finsh and nice music choice

  • nah it was made for the tutorial only actually lol

  • next time use paths for smoother selections ...

never use the lasso for high resolution

  • omg can i say ur so fucking awesome cause all of your work is fucking Dope.........I'm trying my hardest to learn how to color this is helping meh out!

  • do you have 1 of those touch pad pencil tools or do you use the mouse for all of your artwork

  • when i did this particular tutorial, i didn't have a tablet. now i do

  • i love the BGM too :D

  • wow great learned a lot..

oh btw you could've put subtitles or something to indicate what you were doing... cuz it was hard to see..

    :D

  • when your done coloring do your pics get those little boxes when u zoom into it cause thats what happens to my pics

  • lol those are pixels, try making your drawing in a bigger page with a resolution of 300 if you plan on printing it. Its under image>image size. If you scan your work, scan it at 300 dpi and it should fit fine w/o pixelating and then you shouldn't see little boxes unless you zoom in a lot. Remember photoshop is a raster program, want clean lines all the time? Go Illustrator but its a whole different type of coloring there.

  • Oh my god this helped sooooooooooo much! Thank you!!! :3

  • Great video!

I learned something from this. :)

    A couple of questions first.

    Do you do cell shading?

    Anddd

What program did you use to record your screen? :)

  • i don't cellshade oftain, only sometimes. and recording was done with Camtasia Studio!

  • im a noob when it comes to photoshop... sometimes when i open the PS program i can not get rid of the hand tool, please how can i undo that?

  • hmmmmm....don't know what to really tell ya on that sweety. try right clicking to the side, like out of the grey area maybe *if that makese sense* or click around on yer tools. but most importantly, google the problem and someone out there can help!

  • You have to hit the space bar. I use CS3 and it does the same thing from time to time. But a quick tap of the space bar should fix that up. I don't know why it does that but it gets in the way at times. Hope that helps!

  • thank you very much sanparuzu, i'll defenitly do it next time the hand tool shows up.

  • Question, whenever I start coloring and I go over the line art, the line art gets colored too. How where you able to color without the lineart getting affected?

  • if your using layers like in the video.

keep yer lineart at the top of the layers list thing that u see me constantly rightclicking and stuff on. lineart should always been on 'multiply' and the color layers should be under it just regular

  • Good talent and cool music ^^

Hey. I'm drawing my own avatar. It's a sketch and im wondering if somebody is bored and interested at coloring it. It's a scanned traditional drawing and i suck at digital coloring so if somebodys interested thas message ma. I would be very happy :)

  • r u using the laso tool?

  • ahhh im over a month late.

    nope, using polygonal tool

  • Hey, what's the first song in this video? I like it.

And awesome tutorial, though it's kind of a strain to follow along at times.

  • sorry im late with a reply, the song is Day by Day - Emyli

  • Thank you!

  • nice use of polygon tool

  • I NEED HELP i am new to photoshop and when i scan my Drawings they turn out quite pixley and even when i click on a paint it is as pixley as my scanned immage??

  • Check the resolution you're using to scan the image. In photoshop click the image menu and them image size and you'll see it. It might also have to do with the quality of the saved file after scan... If there's a way to boost your image's resolution during the scan process it may help you out.

    Cheers

  • i wish i have photoshop my life would be easier i think

  • photoshop wont necessairly make your life better... 'cause if you don't know how to use the program, you'll be right back where you started... if you're going to get it, look into beginner tutorials (such as this one), one's that deal with all the photoshop tools, not just colouring-- because photoshop is more than just colouring!

  • how did u make ur picture looks like pencil drawn on the pc?? ^^

  • it was a pencil drawn picture she scanned and imported into photoshop. it also looks like the other layer she colored on was in multiply, so as to not cover up the pencil marks beneath it. balls.

  • Great vid. 5/5

  • What is the program?

  • she say's that she's using photoshop 7... slightly older, but it's one that many people seem to like for basic stuff... also a good starting point if you've not used PS before :D

  • kind of looks like sumthin is cumin out of the nose

  • Very nice video, now i kinda got more of the point how to color shadows in manga style.

    By the way, whats the name of the first song? It was kinda cool ^^;

  • I have been LOOKING for a way to color in Photoshop. Thanks so much for this vid, it's helped so much. Well, at least I think it will. I'm off to try right now. :)

  • poor quality? Man! it's really easy to follow! Very nice vid! 5/5
