@jmmontes13 The song is in A Minor.Chord Progression in solo:A-F-E-G.He starts the solo in the scale, then in the F chord plays A Locrian witch is AWFULL at the atmosphere of the song,like wrong (although its ok in harmony rules)after this he continueus in the main scale and at the second circle of the chords he uses the A Dorian mode a little bit (Sounds like unreleated with the first part,just ideas in a row)and he finishes it with the main scale. He is a great guitarist but this solo doesn't.

I can't believe Paradise Lost never reached the mainstream, they are such a great band..thousands of bands were inspired by their music, they pratically created a new metal genre, those guys are not a band of one single great album or just a single hit, I mean..PL have been recreating metal, album after album, never repeating the same formula, and always sounding fucking awesome! I feel sad that they never had the success they deserve, but maybe that's the reason PL still are such a great band.

@Deadflesh1666 plus with most 90's doom metal bands most of them are influenced by goth bands any and tend to go in that direction but metal wise. for instance aaron stanthorpe of My Dying Bride lists fields of the nephilim and sisters of mercy as some of his inluences which are both goth bands hence only natural that they lean more in that direction.

I like their music. @kmfdm5 The 90's doom change their tunes to a more, alternative, progressed rock sounding but still keeping some gothic/doom metal in their style. Other bands did the same like Anathema, The Gathering and Amorphis. The old school doom bands tend to keep it traditional to keep making new dark albums which sound in a vybe of Black Sabbath. One 90's band that I see a big influence was Cathedral specially with Equilibrium.

Draconian Times was the highlight of their carrier. The following albums wasn't so bad as many people says, but weak and wearied compared to the eraly stuffs. Nick and his bandmates make a new style with their Gothic album. Maybe they were the first band in the death doom metal scene that use female backing vocals. But somehow they lost their creativity with age...
