@vallonia I ddidn't know Joe had died. What happened to him? I know about the heart problem, but his death took me by surprise. RIP, Joe, and thanks for your videos, man.
I’m sad to post this thread, but Joseph Fusco passed away on May 18th 2010. I’m not sure of the details of his passing, but he had two stints back in 2007 and his passing was sudden so I assume it was heart related.
Hello Joe, I just want to compliment you on all your rafter instructions...A1 quality teaching job for any young man starting out. Best wishes for much success.
on a common rafter you bring the plume cut for the ridge back 3/4" but on the hip your suppose to do 3/4" to 3/4" diagnolly on a framing square and get a measurement of 1" 1/8 and then thats how much you bring the plumb cut back for hip rafter how come you didnt do that?
If you listen to the video, you'll hear me state that you remove 1/2 the thickness of the ridge from the common. The reason I didn't say anything about a hip rafter is because this video isn't about hips. . .
Nice job Joe. I'm a steel stud carpenter; recently, i have been put on a job site that we have 12" common rafters to figure out and on the other side of the building, a radius common that dies into a strait valley.Framing steel is a little different, but you gave me the common knowledge thanks. Crazy stuff. You would think they would put someone on this job that is more familiar with rafters, but they didn't. Thanks for the info, you helped out a ton. I
You have a big fan out in MN Joe. Keep up the good work. I have been reading the roof cutting book by Gross. Your video makes a nice supplement to that text.
