  • I remember the Sunday morning when I saw this exact taping on television. Unbelievable to see it again over seventeen years later...time flies!!! This choir was unique: they were way ahead of their time; the band was phenominal for a "regular" church band; they sang with such heart, and they hardly released any albums (or regretfully, CD's) as most Chicago church choirs did at the time.

  • This is the perfect Sunday morning congregational song.

  • When this song was written many years ago, I don't believe that the word "religion" was used in the way we may think of it today...

  • So you're saying if religion was abandoned then we would all get along?

  • He is right... back when this song was written the message it implied isnt the same as the way we imply religion today... simply put its is sayin I am glad for the old time gospel that has been our foundation all these years...

  • Oh my gosh!!!! What year was this filmed, this looks like its late 80s or something. This is so cool to see my church back then lol I love it! I've been goin there since I was about 10, im 22 now, its been a blessing to be a member, and get saved there, Bishop Arthur M. Brazier and now Pastor Byron Brazier are true blessings in my life and great servants of the Lord. And yes we @ Apostolic LOVE Jesus and trust that He is our Savior and our God so make no mistake about it people.

  • This had to be in or after 1992 because the Dorchester Sanctuary was built in the aforementioned year...

  • Praise the Lord sister! I agree. I was around back then and still love it now. We've all gotten older now and things have changed alot, but one thing that is still the same is that Jesus Christ is Lord!

  • BETTA TELLEM

  • We are to be Apostles of God. There is no "religion". Either we are followers of Christ or we are not. Because we choose to congregate together in a building as members of God's church doesn't make us anything but what we are: Sinners! Washed in His Blood. "Apostolic" is not a "religion".

  • I wonder what year this is could you let us know. STEWART THE CHIOR DIRECTOR IS A ANOTHER CHURCH BUT HE COMES BACK AND HELPS THE BROTHERHOOD CHORALE.

  • I think 1994 or 1995.

  • I used to attend Apostolic Church of God when I was a little girl. My mother was in the choir. I loved going to church. Everytime I visit Chicago I try to go. I miss it soo much.

  • Well, the next time you are in Chicago, you are more than welcomed to join us in worship!! Be blessed! :)

  • lol the guy at 0:12 seconds looks like carlton from the fresh prince of bel air

  • That guy is Spencer Leak, Jr. of Leak and Sons Funeral Home in Chicago...

  • You may be singing you have old time religion , but the apostolic church is not old. It's around 100 years old and not in the bible

  • studyjesus.....apostolic is actually known as Pentecostal the word apostolic seperates the jesus name pentecostals from the trinity. The word pentecost is in the bible!! It says the day of pentecost.

  • Ac 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called pentecostals first in Antioch. No, christians. Never called pentecostals

  • While the denomination isn't that old, the apostles doctrine is from biblical times. The main differences are that they don't believe in the Trinity and they baptize in Jesus name. They believe Jesus died and rose again, they believe you must be born again and they agree with 99% of what most every other denomination teaches.

  • The apostolics are a man made church (satans plan). And teach faith only. They don't even understand what "in the name of " means. All denominations are from the devil so I'm glad you say they agree with the denominations

  • Within a few years after the resurrection of Jesus, Christians began to divide themselves. The main thing is to repent of sin and believe on Jesus. I think they probably agree with most of what you believe.

  • Part of the gospel is not enough. You need to study what they believe. Man made gospel is very different from the truth that the bible teaches

  • Okay, so how does a person come to Christ?

  • What a person must do to be saved

    1. Hear the gospel of Jesus Christ preached. ( Romans 10:17 )

    2. Believe . (John 8:24 )

    3. Confess Jesus Christ is the Son of God ( Romans 10:9-10 )

    4. Repent of your sins . ( Luke 13:3 )

    5. Be baptized for the remission of sins. ( Acts 2:38 )

    then....

    6 Remain faithfull ( Rev 2:10)

  • lol, the apostolic church, follows the bible to the extreme, so i dont know what you say, its a man made satanic church?we have preaching of the word by doctors with phd's in christianity. we NEVER COMPROMISE the word of god, its first always, we are baptised in the correct way, as stated in the bible via acts 2:38 and we stand by god and exercise our faith

  • 1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

  • what are you telling me that for? apostolic christians accept jesus christ as their saviour and lord. Your so stupid, well not stupid, your disgustingly ignorant to the apostolic faith.

  • @breddachris Now, now..Let's have a discussion in a Godly way. Remember, we are to NEVER "argue" about God's word. Because it is written. If God said it, then that settles it... Be Blessed! :)

  • Don't just believe in Jesus, you've got to know Him! Be blessed!

  • We believe in "the" Trinity and not "a" Trinity. There is a difference. Let me explain, we (Pentacostal faith) believe that Jesus is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Father (God) in the flesh, he is the Son and of course he is the Holy Sprit. Most other denominations believe the the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is 3 seperate entities. That is the difference.. However, you are right in that we believe 99% of everything else outside of the Godhead as we are bible-based.

  • "While the denomination isn't that old"

So you admit that it's not the church in the bible. Jesus's church started on the day of pentecost. You are 1900 years too late

  • The Bible says "we will know them by their fruit" and if a person believes on Jesus (Romans 10:9, Acts 16:31), walks in love and holiness, then who am I to argue about their salvation? By grace are you saved thru faith.

  • So you believe they can be in a church not in the bible and be ok?

  • Okay, which organization or group is the "pure" church that is doctrinally perfect?

  • There is no such thing as a "perfect" church because the saints of God are not perfect, although, we are striving toward excellence, or suppose to be if we are saved through Jesus Christ.

As long as we are alive here in earth, we will never be perfect. This is why Jesus Christ gave himself, for our original sins so that we might be saved.

  • I know. I was responding to his comment about the denominations not being of God and I wanted to hear what church "he" went to that was historically and doctrinally perfect. There's always something or someone I disagree with, that's life. I've gone to ACOG several times and enjoy it.

  • What Are The Word?

  • i sang this song at church today!

  • I think the reason alot of people don't think that this is an Acts 2:38 church is because of the conservative nature of the services. Most of the Apostolic churches you go to are very liberal, but this one church is one of the few conservative Apostolic Churches. I don't know many Apostolic churches with an Pipe Organ lol, so yeah they like to do it old school.

  • That's right, "Facebh18"!! ACOG is my church! And it's not always about the emotional, you have to KNOW the word as well!!! God bless! :))

  • ya i go 2 the 1st pentecostal church in bonner springs ks but the name should b changed 2 first apestolic church.....but ya the songs r really fast paced

  • This IS MY CHURCH ACOG

  • That's nice. It's good. It's alright. There's peace in it. I like it. Sweet. And deep. Thanks. Simply spiritual.

  • Is this a real Acts 2:38 Church?

  • Apostolic Church of God (ACOG) in Chicago, IL. is an independent Apostolic Pentacostal-faith church.

  • The song is still giving God the Praise and the Glory, therefore, what does it matter what denomination the church represents?? Please stop thinking using the mind of man and obtain the mind of Jesus!! :)

  • Sing choir!!!!!

  • This takes you back down south.

  • My good friend brother Stewart Wilson is directing the choir! Thanks for posting!

  • I'm glad too!!!
