I only wear Nike Air Rifts. I believe they were made for the barefoot runners of Kenya for the Olympics. I have Autism so i am extremely sensitive to most things especially shoes. Nike Rifts are like walking barefoot. =)
What are your thoughts on orthotics?? I have been wearing orthotics for mild pronation as well as sneakers for mild to moderate pronation. I am a runner also, but found that focusing on gate while running causes me to use the sneaker from the ball of the foot not the heel. I used to blindly allow the sneaker to do the work (heel pounding) and yes, I suffered shin splints and knee aches..I haven't had any since I started 'going inside' of my body while running, with proper posture..
I just found your show on YouTube today - and I love it. I've been wanting to improve my health for a while, and have finally decided to do something about it. The question that I had is what do you recommend for a sport with more lateral movement, like basketball? Do shoe makers have it right with basketball shoes?
yo i no what ur talking about the heel hurts so bad when u land on it i jumped of bleachers (10ft) onto hard gym floor omg i couldn't walk i just fell to the ground in pain luckily i didnt break any thing and it went away after a hour but i never want that to happen again
Yes, theworldsfamous, low heel shoes for running as well... but be sure to take it very, very slow. Switching over quickly can leave you with aches, pains and do just as much damage as staying the higher, thicker heel shoes. Hope this helps!
Years ago before my retirement I worked on concrete floors 10 hours a day. Then the negative heal earthshoe came out! No more tired sore feet they had thick fronts and thin heels... TOO BAD X 10 they turned out to be a fad! Myself and many co-workers were very disappointed to see them go they were made by all the big name shoe companys and there were even ankle high steel toe models. Anyway if you aren't old enough to remember them google them they are being made again but a bit pricy.
Do those nike's come in a size 22? <.<
