The problem with DS9's battles was always that the CGI would require the fleets to be at point blank range. They're supposed to be like space battleships firing on each other from thousands of miles away. Slow, deliberate battles of attrition.

dude serentiy is better off battling a spice junker. this heap of shit, serenity, would lose against almost all the battles it faces against any sci fi ship. since it has a hella slow hyperdrive and no sheilds and only one frackin 80 mm cannon mounted on top. this would be mainly target practice for any other starfighter, and makes great cannon fodder for any capital ship, sure it may have supreme maneuverability but going up against a republic gunship? viper or a cylon raider for that matter

Also to morons on the web. Sound will travel in oxygen. Oxgen is combustable. You need oxygen to breath. If you destroy a ship, you will set loose oxygen from which explosions and sound will be seen and heard at a short distance for a short time. Stop trying to ruin movies. Don't knock on George too much. I think American Graffiti is a pretty damn good movie with a pretty good story. And what I have learned is "good" is relative to perception and experience.

And George is a kickass producer of movies overall. Though I DO agree - Joss is the better overall story-teller. But don't forget George DID write the Star Wars saga - and he is a better writer then director. If given a race - Joss would outrun George as a director far more then he would as a writer.
