I've been around Illinos for a while. This sounds like a farming operation from a distance. It sounds like a combine or some type of tractor with a spreader. Could be a farmer discing as well. Doesn't sound like a train...no low frequencies you might expect for a long coal train, etc. Possibly also a local factory?

Sounds travels through air ( sky) and in strange ways depending on temp, humidity, the layout of the land and so on. I have heard this before and it sounds like long haul trucks on a distant highway.

Any clips from the eggheads that back up their theories? These sound have power behind them. No plane, train, or machinery make these sounds.

once more i repeat myself these noises are electric magnetic feedback sonic waves being caused by the approaching massive energy field, the brown dwarf Nibiru, wormwood, red dragon, red katchina, destroyer etc ( over fifty names worldwide) we were warned

Slow heavy long coal trains often when the humidity is high sounds like this for a long time around my 36 latitude ..might check a weather zoom IN map and see if any rail road tracks are close ..Coal power generator sites are working overtime as we sort through the nuke power inspections with some plants being repaired and supplied power slowed from them..tracks do have this ring sound with heavy long loads of coal ..Thanks for posting!!

Im in illinois an hear this sound, but i heard it on Jan 19th, and have no record of it except the phone call i made to my wife immediatly following it. i would like to know which region of IL your from. Im about 40 miles north of St.L MO on the IL side.

It's too long to be a tornado siren!! I heard the same thing at 10:30 pm during a snow storm while shoveling . Thought it might be a snow plow, but when two plows went by I realized it wasn't that. Two friends of mine also heard the same noise in two different towns up to 20 mile away. Never heard it before, and haven't heard it since. I'd really like to know what it is.

Definitely a rotating outdoor warning (tornado) siren on test day, although the audio quality seems to have been deliberately degraded with extraneous noises to mask the obvious. Nice try, but no cigar.

Ya, it's a strange sound.  But I prefer the ones they're hearing up in Canada!

You're not alone, these are the same sounds I heard on two separate occasions in Cape Canaveral, Florida!

It doesn't sound like any of the other noises, but still and odd sound. Sounds almost like the alarm that sounds when someone breaks out of prison. Strange though.
