I agree with most of what you say here except that the idea of freedom FROM religion is a bad thing. Freedom FROM religion is as necessary as freedom OF relegion if for no other reason than that religions are usually mutually exclusive. The government must not sponsor or subsidize any one particular religion over another, which means all or none, equally. Since all isn't an option by their own dogma, it must be none. A man's religion is between him and his pastor. Not him and his statesman.

I do agree that Christians bear the lion's share of the burden. The rules should be applied equally, period. However there are some arguments that do not help this cause. Boycotts for using the phrase "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas?" Please. This is not an assault on Christianity. 10 commandments in court? 9 perhaps, but that first one is awfully tricky. Sounds like establishment to me.

Please don't get me wrong, I agree 100%. Free speech zones are an abomonation. Over zealous militirized response is a violation of civil liberties. The patriot act is anything but. The military commisions act was an act of war on the american people.
