davydenko obviously played way (as in WAAAYYYY) too much into feds forehand. its ridiculous how many points fed got to construct from his HF side even on davydenkos serve.

but still fed looked real sharp here. especially the 85% first serves in. anyones in trouble when fed serves signifficantly higher than 70%

Davydenko was nowhere near his best and was never allowed to settle in. He's the same kinda player as Rafa, nole and Murray- needs a few matches under his belt and make sure he's hit some balls first. Federer doesn't quite need such to get into rhythm of things. If Davydenko had played Fed in SF or F, he'd have put up better fight. Do note he hadn't had as many matches tail end of last year. Fed has. That's why it's important to be a seeded player- so you don't run into top opposition early.
