I'm after a AD120VTX. I'd settle for buying one of the new VT100s, but I've had a snoop and people seem to be selling old VTXs, with those massive VC12 footswitches, for less money than a new VT100. Also, I fell in love with the blue diamond grill cover fabric on the VTX! I noticed you have one of the new VTs aswell so, may I ask for your opinion? £350 for a AD120VTX with VC12 or about £400 for a VT100 with a VFS5 footswitch?
Thanks for your help. I enjoy your blues very much. Very smooth!
Hi fdrstrat-actually I don't own a VT, the VT30 was only a loan. Depends what you want-22 new amp models with Vox own speakers, 12 month warranty, 8 user patches but way more limited functionality, or a second-hand AD120VTX with full gigging facilities, birchply cab, 32 user patches, independent effects + pedal section, Celestion Neodogs etc. If you're gigging, AD120VTX/VTH & VC12 is a tough combination to beat. You'll need an EQ in the FX loop in both to get the best out of them.
Hey Lance, how are you mate?! Long time no speak - good to hear from you. Thanks for looking in & the kind words - although as I get older...well, I just get older! LOL. Let's catch up - My e-mail's unchanged so drop me a line or send me a 'PM' on the Valvetronix forum. Rich
Thanks Greg - there's another blues one on here with my Les Paul Custom - just look for more voxman5 vids. I'm trying to get a better quality video camera but I'll do some more once I've bought one. Rich
This is wonderfully enjoyable to listen to. Really tasteful and soulful playing here. Love your PRS custom 24. It sounds amazing although it is 100% your playing. Best wishes and much continued success.
I know what you mean, but don't despair. PRS prices have really come down, & if you're patient a hardtail CU22 with birds can be found s/hand for £750-850, & a CU24 with birds for £850-900. The new Mira (nice guitar & a proper US PRS) is £959 on Ebay & in 12mths s/hand prices will be circa £600-750. My 2002 CU24 is immaculate & was less than half the price of a new one. So they really are attainable. Thanks for looking in & I hope you eventually get one to enjoy, as they're lovely guitars.
Thanks danechka - wow, that's the first time I've ever had such a nice comment that someone was actually inspired by my playing -normally I inspire them to turn me off! lol Anyway, appreciate you looking in & enjoy your Custom 22 - PRS made their guitars to be played after all. Best, Rich
