hello, do you have any idea what happens if i have two level II vests and use all the inserts on only one vest? so i would have a vest with two soft panels in each pocket. will the protection level increase?
was the kevlar still stiff and pristine when you tested it or did it feel more loose? i have a piece dated from 03 it feels really loose when i rub it or pick it up compared to newer pieces and i dont have a pistol to test it
I donnt remember anymore, that was a year ago.. but I think how often it was worn would be an issue.. this stuff was worn daily for it's legal lifespan before we shot it
I wonder if a person took a 44mag to the chest while wearing that vest (or any soft vest) if it wouldn't kill em anyway.Or at least it would do alot of damage, possibly stop your heart?
i got an iba with esapis and soft inserts. however, the soft inserts are old, made in 03...do you know if these are 2a or 3a? doesn't say, but they feel a bit thin.
@GunWebsites duct tape it to a 80lb punching bag.. they're not to expensive ~$60 .. plus if the vest works, you can relieve some stress :) bale of hay isnt dense enough to mimic a body. those boxing maniquens are EXPENSIVE.
I believe that is the armor that was recalled because it failed in some cases

That's the zylon vest isn't it? The one they tried saying would't stop bullets.

no

@GunWebsites Just wondering why. Do you think that the .50 AE would puncture the armor>
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@mepuddingz Though in all seriousness, yes IIIA will stop .50AE.

@mepuddingz JK dude
if the vest did get show with a 50. it would stop it..., But Im thinking the force alone
would mess you up real bad (INTERNAL BLEEDING)
QUESTED 1 year ago
@mepuddingz i hope there isnt any shots in it then

@grizz474 It would hurt like hell and still do you a lot of damage. I'd rather have the armour on though.

badmintonho 2 years ago
2 is much thinner than 3
GunWebsites 2 years ago
are you purposely using older vests to test quality? assuming the newer ones will do an even better job at stoping rounds?
badmintonho 2 years ago
nope, we are just shooting at the vests we had available..
nothing planned about this, we were shooting one night and one of the guys had these old vests so we shot them..

is second chance ultima level 3a similar to second chance ultima level sk1. this last one come from germany and is the same of us 3A?
giordanoev 2 years ago
sk1 is quite tougher I suppose
9 mm steel jacket in sk1 is harder to stop at ca. 410 m/s than US version
I think sk 1 is likely to have a greater margin of safety but you cannot generalize this
janius777 2 years ago
do u think it might go through if the vest was wrapped around a more solid surface?
lynette1953 2 years ago
we are planning to find that out..
we are trying to decide what material to use to put the vests on that will mimic a body
GunWebsites 2 years ago
maybe a hay bail might work .or a dead pig or maybe a boxing maniquen.
lynette1953 2 years ago
good ideas.. next we need to find something cheap (and less gross than a dead pig)
hay bails are all over and cheap... might try that
GunWebsites 2 years ago
lololol. yeah go with hay :)
