Comparing abortion and the holocaust is like comparing a fire cracker to a nuclear weapon. While they share similarities they are worlds different. The meat industry shares more similarities with the holocaust than anything but I digress. The holocaust was tragic and caused much suffering and pain to fully conscious self aware people and frankly a fetus just doesn't fall under the conscious category yet. I really don't see what is harmed by an abortion if it is done for a reason.

I'm not here to debate I just wanted to put in my two cents, but my view of morality is that is a human made construct, both genetically to preserve our species from an evolutionary stand point and from our personal preference as a society 'I don't want to get murdered, neither do you, let's make killing immoral. I also hate it when someone steals... and so on. It may be nihilistic but it's the most logical belief.

And to justify abortion is simple. You define abortion as murder, which implies the fetus is a conscious human being. That is your first mistake. the assumption that abortion is murder. While murder is immoral in our current system of beliefs, killing a living thing for a gain or purpose is not, i.e. the meat industry, hunting, pest control, etc. etc. Now, an argument can come up; 'Well this is different because the fetus has the potential to be human.' So does every males sperm.

Lets define these things that could harm our society 'wrong'. Well here we are still deciding whats 'wrong'. It is never good to base laws on purely religious beliefs. Do not associate your religion with your laws simply because that's how our country as built, to decrease the illogical and unjustifiable actions that often come from religion like killing, verbal, and physical abuse of others, and just the whole lot of insanity that comes with it. @Kestroodle The fetus is human. If a dog is pregnant, is that fetus not considered a dog already? The only difference is that the fetus is completely dependent upon the mother for it's survival and has no voice of it's own. It can not communicate because it has not learn language, but that doesn't mean it's not already human. What would it be if not human? Does God only exist in human perception, or is he something elemental, eternal, something independent of human kind or the world? In terms of abortion, who knows whether aborting a chromosomally-defect fetus isn't being kind? Isn't it wicked to make a woman suffer through her pregnancy, carrying a dead child within her? In regard to what u said about the government and public schools... I think you might be a right, but not because of the separation of church and state. That was the best thing we could have done for posterity. Strong religious belief en mass is portrayed as a good thing, but look at what it has brought us. Historically, more people have been killed by the church than saved. I wonder if your public school has any text books or a library.
