forgot one crucial point which Gabby demonstrated.

If you strike the puck with more of the end of the blade you miss out on two things:

1. The blade bends and the puck wobbles off the end in a weak slapshot.

2. striking the puck closer to the shaft allows the puck to accelerate down the blade. The puck gains spinning momentum and you can get some freaky puck movement through the air.

You can see the first chick strike the puck closer to her shaft and her shot is much faster.
