"parliament", where a group gathers on the ground in a circle and one of them will pace around in the middle and caw like he's addressing the others. No one is sure what they're doing or why.
@GoblinXXX oh that is so cool.. maybe he is addressing the "murder". I have heard that ravens can even talk. One thing is for sure, they are very smart birds.
@rxmakeupqueen There are a couple of YouTube videos of talking ravens. They're closely related to Myna birds, that are almost as chatty as parrots. And you're right, ravens and crows are both very smart: They can recognize themselves in mirrors, and use tools.
@GoblinXXX Ravens are also related to crows. at least that is what i have read. i believe they are related to both..any way, it doesn't matter to me I think ravens and crows are some of the most beautiful birds in the world.. some people even keep ravens as pets and apparently make good pets. i would love to have one as a pet.. do you know where i could get one..lol.
@rxmakeupqueen It's illegal to have a raven or crow as a pet in the US (for some reason-- They aren't endangered.) I don't know about the rest of the world.
@hyperflexharrington5 I think it comes from the dark ages as well as the middle ages. when there were mass deaths, and wars and people died, crows were known to show up and devour the dead.. in some places vultures did not exist in that area so crows were the clean up crew.. also in areas were vultures were, crows because of their size, out numbered the vultures. so i think that is were the term "murder of crows" came from.. yes crows eat dead animals. they will eat anything.
Now this is a TRUE cemetery that you hear about in ghost tales and eerie stories. Complete with the typical gothic and cross-shaped tombstones, huge mausoleum crypts, and creepy trees surrounding the land. I wish we had cemeteries like this here in the U.S. I would take a trip to the U.K. just to visit a graveyard of this kind. Appreciate the video!
What do you call a flock of crows? A murder

@rxmakeupqueen Never understood the origins of the term, murder of crows.

@hyperflexharrington5 Crows are carrion birds. They tend to congregate around corpses, like the scene of a murder.

@GoblinXXX It seems so obvious now.

When human beings fail to take care of a cemetery, the nature takes over their jobs by embracing all those gravestones there.

I hope you add this cemetery to Find A Grave & create memorials for the people. I'm sure they'd appreciate it. :)
