The interesting thing with Yahara is that he does not fight to score points, he fights to take down the opponent. That's why he gave a very unorthodox style of fighting, compared to his japanese comrades, who are more point-effective. The Unsu kata is one of the things that influence his kumite-style. Just look at his groundfighting against Mori. The floor kick is straight out of Unsu.
The fun is thath sensei Yahara would kill the others in a "real" fight. Like you knowe yahara killed many famous martial artists thath the yacuza mafia sent on him..
Haha yahara's spirit is excellent but he couldn't outdo imamura or kawawada for single punch scoring ability. Yahara is incredible to watch but makes everything a very long job. it really shows when you watch the team matches and the others finish their matches in 30 seconds and he takes 2 mins and loses/wins by decision. =S
I admire his kime but he doesn´t have fair play.

@frehan90 I like his style, but I seriously doubt Unsu or any other kata influenced it. Kata is kata and fighting is fighting.
