@zielinski91 I think Fallout:NV is more of an homage to Fallout 2, whereas Fallout 3 was true to the original Fallout theme. Fallout had a very bleak look to it, whereas Fallout 2 had a more civilised feel. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are similar, respectively.

I had never heard of the Fallout games and decided to try New Vegas. It was a really amazing game so I thought I had to play the entire series to know its universe well. It took me just a bit to get used to the old graphics but I found Fallout 2 to be a really unique game as well as ahead of its time if I might say. The possibilities that are given to the player are endless combined with smart humor and references. Played 65 hours to complete it and I loved it. Great song for a great game.

@Graavigala85 They're not as random as you say, but they are definably very different then they're predessasors. This game feels too fast paced then the original fall outs, and of course, much more forgiving. I remember playing fallout one, getting to the end, and realizing I effed up and had to start over.

FO2 probably took place less than 50 years after FO1 because the Chosen One (the player character of FO2) was the grandchild of the Vault Dweller (player character of FO1) so it was only 2 generations between the end of the first game and the beginning of the second.

@milehigh96 i think you may be right there, i really enjoyed fallout 3, but i often felt that problems solving was as simple as finding a better gun, would have liked to have seen more puzzle based problem solving, but i did still feel that fallout three and new vegas benifitted very much from modern physics engines and graphics, though thats more presentation than gameplay it just felt more fun to play
@milehigh96 What? Fallout 3 and New Vegas have amazing quests and Vegas is amazing when it comes to choices. I don't consider it an FPS. Exploring the map is the best part. I prefer it over looking down on your character like in the originals
@milehigh96 Good thing Bethesda is making all the fallout games from now on so the rest of fallout will be basically the same gameplay as fallout 3. Kind of a shame, but fallout 3 was still decent, even if it doesn't live up to the standards of the Black Isle fallout games.

Ive enjoyed every real Fallout game ( 1,2,3,NV ). Each was great in their time, and I look forward to future generations of Fallout on the Skyrim engine.
@TheGameMouse i heard that the latest one will be set in San Francisco, looks pretty good from what i've seen, but i haven't seen what the skyrim engines performance is like, but i hope its better than the havoc engine the used on F3, the game was great, but i fet that the wasteland wasn't as expansive or detailed as it could have been, especially in urban environments, and the vaults weren't as big as they should have been theres no way that 1000 people could fit in the space you get to see

Considering what fallout is, I'd say that they were trying to appeal to a wider audience. I've rarely heard of Fallout before F3, now loads of people that did or did not play Oblivion/Elder Scrolls Series are now Vault Dwellers. I love the series but Bethesda can execute it way better. Since their new engine is coming out soon, I'd say that a new Fallout game will also be made. I wish we had another location to play though. Maybe the NW united states? Or maybe a Chinese Expansion/ game?

@WatchOutBR I played em and yeah I like em too and thats why I say that Bethesda can do way better with this series. New Vegas was a dart trying to hit what makes Fallout good. They hit and scored a few points but it still doesn't retain that dark feeling. F3 was a little closer but still didn't feel absolutely great. I have high hopes. I've taken a look at their suggested "hardcore" mode, where water is a factor, ammo has weight, healing is gradual, a more "realistic" (kinda) take on things. I really like the idea as I'm a fan of the survival part of it, but whether it's still there when it goes gold, who can say. I've loved all 3 main games thus far, so...*shrug*.
From what I've read of new Vegas it should look like three but have the feel of 1 and 2, west coast and all baby. Black Isle Fanboys are among the worse and most ungrateful, The Classic Fallout / Fallout 2 game play formula was definitely showing it's age, and simply would not work in this advance age of gaming. Be glad Bethesda revived the franchise from development death. and ATTEMPTED to keep it RPG, and please the old fans. Would you rather have had activision pick it up and make it an FPS with perks?! You people disgust me.

Just ask a random Fallout 1-2 fan and you will get the same answer. I tooked this seriously because I'm a huge fan of Fallout 2, and this game is a truly piece of ART, not business.

Its good, but Fallout 2 - perfection, sadly that new generation of people doesn't understand that... This isn't the version used in the Fallout 2. (But I guess you noticed that :D) The track that was used in the game was removed/blocked by youtube. So I decided to upload this version. I know it's not the same, but it's better than nothing :( :D. Sorry.

I have high hopes. I've taken a look at their suggested "hardcore" mode, where water is a factor, ammo has weight, healing is gradual, a more "realistic" (kinda) take on things. I really like the idea as I'm a fan of the survival part of it, but whether it's still there when it goes gold, who can say. I've loved all 3 main games thus far, so...*shrug*.

From what I've read of new Vegas it should look like three but have the feel of 1 and 2, west coast and all baby. And I don't know what you guys mean by depressing, Fallout gives me more hope than anything.
