  • sick collection, do u ever walk down the street with one of these blasting a song?

  • @manofvalor365

I use one outside sometimes but i never walked around with one.

I know of German collectors who do and they seem to get great response

Ghettoblasters were not so common in Belgium in the 80's and i don't think i would get the same response

up here like in Germany or the States

    Anyway thanks for your interest

  • Ghettoblaster kick ass! For a portable they sound just as good as a HiFi system.

  • thanks man! i dream for M90. i have in my collection GF-777Z; RX-5700;RX-7000;RX-7200;RX-5350;SANYO M9998; HITACHI TRK-8600......up to 40bbx.

  • @ghiok1

wow , awesome collection you have. All of the top boxes are in your collection.

    I hope you can get a M 90 real soon. ;-)

  • tell me what difference sound and power, are between M90 and GF-777

  • @ghiok1

You can push the M 90 real hard. It's very clear that it has way more power output.

The sound quality is better too.Deeper bass , clearer highs

Anyway , there's a lot of noise to be made with the 777 but the tweeters cannot deliver enough highs with the 4 woofers.

These both are must haves ;-)

  • Anyone know if it was Sharp or sSanyo that had a boombox that came with 2 microphones?

  • @Phanbot01

The Sanyo M 9994 had those microphones that you could place on top of the boombox.

I do not know of other brands that had this feature

Finding a M 9994 withe these microphones is not easy.

  • looking for a 9797 sharp... ? anyone selling ?

  • @steviox

Sorry , but i'm not selling @ the moment.

The Sharp GF 9797 is not that rare. You may check on Ebay some time

Good luck on finding one ;-)

  • great song ! awesome collection!

  • @Ghettoblastersrule hey....thank you my friend...yes next month will be on the hunt.just makes me mad at what i had before,then got rid : ( will be happy boomboxing soo.regards : }

  • Please make more videos!

  • @FelixTheHouseFreak

I have posted a few clips here before. Youtube removed the audio in the clips though

Clips without audio are useless so i removed these.

I'm glad one clip survived censoring ;-)

  • I remember hooking up 10 of various blasters in the school yard and blasting old school when I was younger. I lover taking mine to the beach and watching everyone stared lol. Great collection

  • @invidinvid

That had to be a BLAST , hooking up 10 of these in school. LOL

I read positive things of persons taking these outside nowadays

I'm gonna keep mine inside though ;-)

  • @Ghettoblastersrule I experimenting with different ways to record on to CD for these blasters with more analog sound like with out the distortion. When and if I find the right way to record on to CD for These radio's ,I'll send you my findings.

  • 4 thOse big emmeffas you can get 250 dOllaz each, 4 the smaller once 185 dOllaz each. peace

  • @boyInDaUno

I can get a lot more for them than you mention.

The M 90 and the GF 777 are the most sought after boomboxes

    Peace ;-)

  • Hi I just bought a GF9595 for the princely sum of £4 down the bootsale.

Would anyone be able to shed some light on it, it's history etc.

Also the tuner doesn't seem work, but it otherwise sounds really good.

  • @trottd02

The GF 9595 needs to have AA batteries installed to let the tuner work.

There is a compartment for these in the main battery compartment

If the tuner still doesn't work , let me know.

I had a problem with the tuner myself on the GF 9595 in the clip.

For the history. The GF 9595 was on the market in the late 70's

This was the first boombox with a digital tuner.

  • @Ghettoblastersrule

Thank you. Just had a look around, changed the old AAs and it seems to work.

I don't plan on selling it, but do you have any idea of what sort of value it has?

    Ta

  • @trottd02

It's hard to tell really.Sometimes you can buy one for let us say 50£

Normally they go for around 100£ . It all depends what shape it's in

I bought the one in my clip for 50 €. It was completely dead though

Bringing it to life completely made it my favourite in my collection.

  • @Ghettoblastersrule

Sounds like I got a bargain then, as far as I can tell it all works fine and there doesn't seem to be any damage to the body other than a few scratches here and there.

  • 777 had most bass from the camera mic perspective :D

  • @gavincurtis

The camera mic quality is bad. The GF 777 has a thumping bass but the M90 has deeper bass and better highs. You can hear that when i point the camera at them.

The highs are causing an sssss sound.

  • Cool Eddy, COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks , Brian. ;-)

  • what are the 2 boxes on the bottom right closest to the 777s are they bothe jvc rm 90's or rm 80's

  • These two are RC M 90's.

  • let the music play is a great track...

    check the comeback soon

  • Nice vid, and nice boxes!

  • Thanks a lot for your comment

  • 80's boombox lovers of the world UNITE! analog was a beautiful thing. And when it went out It took out some of the best ghettoblasters to date!

  • I guess you are a member of stereo2go or boomboxery?

I really love these analog powerhouses.

I really enjoyed shooting this clip.

  • @Ghettoblastersrule I find my RCM -70 doesn't sound new cd"s but any analog recordings on to CD sound good.

  • @invidinvid

    I had a M 70 for a very short time. A switch was defective.

I didn't bother to fix it and threw it in the bin . It was in not that good shape and the sound is crap in comparison with the M 90

I don't like the sound on recent CD's either . Way too distorted.

  • Kool! :-)

  • Thanks Nicolle. I'm deaf ;-)
