@SMEWProductions011 depends on the file. 2.6GB is close to half a DVD. Try compressing it, or changing the type of file your vid is in to maybe a .wmv file or something. Also resolution plays a role in a video size. higher the res, bigger the video.

i have a sd sony pd170 and vegas is the only software that will show 16x9 video in 16x9.

Thanks for this, but I'm having a problem. Changing the format to HDV 720-30p did change the aspect ratio to 16x9, but the clips are coming in appearing as smaller 16x9 clips in the main window, essentially creating a large black border. So I unchecked maintain aspect ration in the clips' properties, and i am individually changing them to fit the aspect ratio, but is there no faster, do-it-at-once method to get the editing process moving along?

Yes it is your PC not the program, it has nothing to do with the program at all, try watching the video on a PC with a better graphics card.

@liljaker raw previews will normally appear laggy on your computer, just set your raw preview as preview or draft to get a better smoother preview.

@liljaker ok if you have a 5-15 second clip highlight it and then press [Shift] + B and you will PRE-RENDER it and if you add any effects to it after you have PRE-RENDERED it will lag again so just PRE-RENDER after your happy with what you have got Thumbs up so everyone can see

Just to help you out. Instead of doing the whole 1.000 (square) you want to set it up like a DVD's settings at pixel ratio of 1.2121 (NTSC Widescreen).

For the final help tip, check that box that says "stretch video do not letterbox" and that will erase any borders that will appear on both YT and on your media player. I would know, I use it.

They still have the borders? If you mean those tiny borders on the top and bottom, that is standard for TV playback and it disappears on your TV when you play them (or it should). No one has actually figured out truly how to render in certain sizes without borders b/c a lot of my friends just crop those when using a converter.

It works all i had to do was go properties click off Maintain aspect ratio and in my case it had a black border around the PS2 clip id taken a while ago so i just clicked on that event/crop button thats on the clip and sized the black border out and have a full 16;9 Clip
