色々な武道が複合しているから本当の高木流柔術とは違う。簡単に­いうと本当は竹胴をつけて仮当をして業をかける。

古武道は「先の先」「後の先」「先先の先」と色々ある。先手を使­わないのを一般的に柔術という。先手をとる技術を捕手術といって­胸・腕・手をつかむ前に技があるが演武では見せない。

They are wearing obakama. These types of hakama were worn in the presence of the shogun or emperor to hamper movement, thus providing safety from easy attack.

Of course, finding traditional obakama is difficult, so Hatsumi sensei is using what is available. He is demonstrating an aspect of court in the feudal era of Japan. Takagi Yoshin Ryu was used in the protection of courtly patronage. Such a demonstration is not standard, but hardly a-historical.
