Adding places to Google Maps

It worked for me. But you have to use the 'search' box on the map page. Then when the results appear, zoom to the location where you want to add a place. THEN scroll to the bottom of the suggested results and the link to 'add new place' will be down there. Positioning the marker is quirky and not intuitive, but it does work.

BUT after all that, the inputs are screened and potentially rejected. So, no putting "your ass" all over the place.

Yes you can add any place that does not already appear on the map in Google Maps

But you can also use Google places to get more leads for your business.

This information is outdated now. There is a new interface now where you have to click on EDIT on the left hand side and then there is an icon on the map(top left) that you use to add points.
