I started off with Virtual DJ cause its very simple and u get to know what todo, but i get a Traktor Ciontrol S4 and aim to continue with Traktor.

If you do want total control of loops, scratching, and sampling, use Traktor, its amazing with almost any mixer or beatpad

ive been using fruity loops for a long time, about 4 years. but i only do non-live original stuff. ive been curious about starting to do live stuff, but im not sure how to go about using FL with live hardware. i mostly program my parts. anyone have any tips?

should i ditch FL for the live stuff?

@DubisDub1 skrillex almost solely uses ableton live, and deadmau5 uses a big variety, mostly ableton live, but also uses reason, cubase and fruity loops; almost no producer uses one piece of software, simply because no one piece of software can do everything one wants

@Deetinator221 FL Studio would be one of the best music maker programs but does cost money, If ur going to mix and u dont have any equipment go with virtual DJ, its as close as ur going to get without spending to much money. (FL studio is available in torrents although i dont recremend it if u have any respect for the program or music its self.)

I use Traktor Scratch Pro and love the user interface. However, I never used Serato but I hear good things

serato is cool bit the shitt is exspensive. i would recommend traktor scratch if you dont have the money for serato but thats as cheap as it gets unless u wanna use the maya44 usb soundcard and u use that 4 VDJ and that is crap

I use Virtual DJ with my Numark Turntables and Serato Scratch Live with the Timecoded Vinyls. LOVE IT I also use serato from time to time, I like VDJ because there are more effects I can use.
